I won't let Milehigh read my tea leaves, let alone my dreams, LOL.

Last night I dreamed my car broke down in a car wash. I had to crawl out between brushes and that wiggly curtain of cloth strips, just before the hot wax. I woke up to my Siamese licking my face. Milehigh'd have me... No, I don't want to think about it, LOL.

I just made pink and purple dream catchers for my 2 little nieces. LMAO

The 8 yr old asked for one, she said "I want pink and teal" then I couldn't make one without making another for the 5 yr old.

Hahahahaha... I asked this one old man if he had any laying around so that I could weasel out of making them and he said:

Cool, getting paid for wanting my dream etc. have evaluated...

I think I then will take the $ 300 and waive the spirit animal search

I could use some of that dream evaluation money. After hanging the new drapes this morning, I've fixed the last of the damage the raccoon did to my house. I quit counting when the bill passed $800.

Sometime on Monday 10/1, while my cousin and I were over in the lapidary shop working on her new inlay bracelet, a raccoon got in my attic. At some point in its antics, it leap on the far end of the fold down attic stairs. Normally these 98 year old wonders stick like the dickens and take all my strength to unfold. But apparently if you're a knee high raccoon, they'll unfurl and dump you right into the hallway.

The pattern of damages suggest that it marauded through the house, with my Siamese in close pursuit, for some unknown number of hours. Looks like it tried to squeeze past the water inlet tubing underneath the toilet. This caused the tubing at the cut-off valve and toilet tank to leak. Then it peed on guest room mattress, ruining it. It climbed on the built-in sideboard in dinner room, where it stood on the plate rail and tried to tunnel through the plaster and lathe into the attic. It tore up the wiring on cat's drinking fountain. Ate a hole in half a bag of cat food. Washed kibble in the potty.

When we got home, we found it in the TV room trying to get through the glass in the windows. The drapes were hanging in shreds on one window and the rods and curtains had been torn from the walls over the other. My Siamese was jumping from piece of furniture to piece of furniture over its head. The three-legged kitten was nowhere to be found and the geriatric Bucky had been trapped atop the guest room armoire so long he had soiled himself.

It took my cousin all of maybe 2 mins to help it find the front door. We last saw it tearing hell bent for leather across the busiest street in the neighborhood.

Pest control guy out to find where it got in it the attic and seal it up - $200. Plumber to fix the toilet -$190. New mattress - $330. New window treatments -$140. Plaster repair -$250. Cat water fountain -$40. Latch for attic stairs - $4.35. Knowing the raccoon can't open the door again -- priceless.

We mostly relyed on grain to make bread. We did eat bread with the meat and vegetables. And in the morning we had porridge.

Because of bad harvests many people crossed over to the States and ofcourse the Indian potatoes and corn were our rescue. Thanks for that.

Understandable. Not amusing such a raccoon. Seems to be a nephew of martens and boar.

As far as I know at least the germans got their first potatoes from the french. Couple of hundret years back a german aristocrat discovered the "earth apple" on french territory. That's probably why the french term for "french fries". Interesting getting to know NDNs also had potatoes independently from the europeans. Didn't know about this.

I think the Irish were the first to import potatoes. After a few bad wheat harvests they were starving to dead and many went to the States and brought back the potatoes.

No the Spanish took the potato to Europe from the Andes. For a while they were an imported food coming form South America and the Channel Islands, where they were also an introduced crop. Actually they were not rapidly adopted in many parts of Europe.

How the potato changed the world

He isn't alone. Lots of people still think Native peoples contributed little to the modern world. When, in fact, their crops, medicines, tools and ideas changed the world.
