BA, don't say the s-word, LOL.

Well, my Christmas shipping is done. I went to 10 different groceries and could only find 1 container candied cherries and no candied orange rind. Killed the Christmas baking. No fruitcakes, no Florentines, no stollen. And more importantly no shipping the danged five pound blocks of fruit, tins of cookies and loaves (really, Siri I mean loaves not loves) of bread to six sets of relatives in four states. My only food related obligations this year are loading 10lb of frozen chile on dry ice for its trip to the coast and surviving the madness that is a friend's Christmas cookie baking party.

Something a little out of control occurs when you give a collection of chemists, physicists, physicians, and mathematicians access to two Kitchen Aid stand mixers, two ovens, two dozen cooky sheets, and a nearly unlimited supply of butter, flour, sugar, chocolate, raisins and nuts. When the party first started 16 years ago, it was all about the kids. Now, the kids are all off doing what college-age kids do on break, which is not hanging with their parents and their parent's friends. But, I swear more than a couple of the parents are in the kitchen fulfilling childhood fantasies about making all the cookies they could ever want. The last year's went on for 10 hours and everyone over the age of 20 ate themselves sick on cookies :)

Well, this is weird. I just spent 20 minutes writing a post, which shows on the forums index but doesn't show up in the thread.

Well, you may have encountered the hidden ghost of the forum who sometimes may be delighted to tease posters.

Sometimes I have the impression, those machines and programs have hidden identities and personalities. I am not sure if KI is such a good idea.

And I tried to make some creme parfume with fruit and coconut scent. Only a tiny flask, 10 cl or so? I spilled half of it, eeek... and it has a scent of coconut only and it wasn't any parfume in the end just some little bit of hand creme. First try and oh well.... now I have a hand creme for four or so days. And all done with edible stuff.

Found it! I knew there was a word for one that makes perfume. (per·fum·er (pər-fyo͞o′mər) n. One who makes or sells perfumes. perfumer (pəˈfjuːmə) or perfumier n (Commerce) a person who makes or sells perfume. per•fum•er (pərˈfyu mər, ˈpɜr fyu-) n. 1. a maker or seller of perfumes. 2. a person or thing that perfumes.)

We went to one of those gourmet burger joints. It had very plain de’cor. White tile with a red tile strip for trim. Looked kind of retro. Well, we had only been there one other time. We knew it was expensive. We got cheese burgers with everything on it drinks and medium fries. Thirty bucks. Burgers were great fries had so much salt on it them you could eat not eat but about a third of them. I did not think that we will go back to “5 guys” again. Hard to enjoy the meal when you are thinking about how much each bite of burger costs.

May you have a good day.

LOL; one Christmas present is by a margin of one day too late. Customs had closed yesterday morning. Have to wait until Thursday morning. They open at 7:30 am.

It is going to be a give away and I am happy that it will be very welcomed.

Today we serve beef roulades with potatoes and beetroot salad. As dessert we have plain yoghurt. You can have sugar for sweeten.

There may some whine left in the cellar for those who wan't it. Must be red and white whine but don't ask me. I have to take a look cause I don't really know.

I say "Merry Christmas" to all my friends and family here on powwows.calm. I say it because we celebrate it ! We love the trees , the presents , the fellowship. This is a Sami Tradition that has evolved into a christian holiday , but in reality it is NOT a christian tradition. My one pet peeve this time of year is "Native Peoples claiming Christianity" In my mind you've turned your back on our true beliefs ! I will say that there are those that practice both and I applaud them for being able to differentiate between the 2. I myself am Cheyenne and I believe in our Creator and I don't pretend to be anything else.
Now I've had my rant ! Everyone ignore the old guy with the bad attitude and have a wonderful Christmas !

I hope everybody had a good day filled with good fun, and good food.

I could use some really, really strong coffee. I had just dozed off today when the kiddo called to wish us a Merry Christmas. He's been busy with his job (IT guy at a library), so we haven't spoken in a while. He was quite chatty, so we talked for a while, and then it seemed to take forever for me to fall back to sleep. It was worth it, though.

Hm... like many years alone at home at Christmas, family long time deceased, the rest does not want to be in touch with me and "friends" don't give a damn about me and don't need my friendly company any other day either. First time no decoration I had, still I made me some nice food and was surprised that it tasted good since I usually do not have appetite always being alone and people probably think me having a great life because I don't look needy in any way. Oh, the telephone hotline kept me company for a little while which I called. I am glad Christmas is over, the most loneliest time of the year for me as well als NYE but I wish you all a good New Year.

We don’t decorate except for a wreath on the door. I concentrate on decorating my heart. Went to Meijer department store Christmas Eve. Smiled at everyone with stupid grin on my face. I think I got one older lady to return my smile. Everyone so busy. They did not have the inclination to brighten my day with a smile. Tecumseh said to greet all strangers and shake hands.

I am about to go old school "bury 'em in an ant hill and cover 'em with honey" on somebody. Once again, my debit card has been compromised and I am beyond angry. Between me and hubby, that's the 4th time this year. That means instead of going home when I get off work in the morning, I will hand around town until the bank opens, and deal with it. Sheesh. We'be had more issues this year than we have in the entire time we've had this account.

Do you need cover for your back in going old school?

Knocking on wood, I hope that I will not have to make that experience. I am not a friend of totally electronic money. At the time, the skimming at the cash dispenser over here seems has decreased but one never knows.
