Started the new year off with a lovely case of bronchitis. Hopefully this thing passes before I leave for Onondaga next weekend for a tournament.

I was craving iced tea this morning, not sure why, but I can't seem to drink enough.

That's a serious nerf gun to have a bolt action. I thought it was going to be that video of the guy who shoots a nerf dart at his friend as he enters the room and the dart goes into the guy's mouth.

Three years since a measurement device/project was turned over to an outside marketing team. Not a pep in all that time. Now, it's a crisis. The device has been dumped back in my lap to upgrade and get ready for more demos.

Turns out that no one has charged the measurement devices or iPads with the supporting app in a couple years. I hope the dang LiPoly batteries will hold a charge. I suspect I'll be at the Apple store tomorrow with the iPads.

Loaded some 450 .45 Colt with 15 grain Swiss No. 1 and 20 grain Common wheat grits as filler. On top a 180 grain .452 lead bullet. Should be enough for some competition.

Just for fun, made some paper cartdriges for the Colt Army cap and ball revolver in .44. Cigarette paper either COB or Gizeh ultra thin Queens size. 15 grain Swiss No 1, 15 grain Common wheat grits as filler and a .450 round ball with 147 grain.

Good enough to knock down the knock down targets and precise enough to hit where you aim up to 20m, though most of the time the targets are 5 m revolver, 8 - 15 m Rifle and 7 - 12 m shotgun. Sometimes all targets are at 5 m. LOL.

No target is to large or to close to miss it. If you want be the fastest shooter with ten ten four.

Loading cartridges or doing loading charges for muzzle loaders is either a science or black magic.

On some occasions, I believe it to be pure to black magic.

I forgot the load for the 12 gauge shotgun, case length length 65 mm. 40 grain of Swiss No. 1 Blackpowder, FFF graded, about 20 mm felting plugs, 28 gramm of lead, 1,8 mm to 3,2 mm diameter, a card board wad and then either roll crimp or star crimp.

I once deloaded a 12 gauge hunting cartridge of RWS and found 90 grain of a black powder I have never seen before, granulated like wheat flour and 32 gramm of lead of different diameter, 1.6 to 3.4 mm. FFFF Swiss black powder is coarser-grained than that powder from the shell. This FFFF Swiss is pan-powder for the flintlock.

To the weapons which are used:

Single action revolver, in my case cap and ball Colt Army 1860 made by F.A.U.L, Hege-Uberti Winchester 1873 and a Pioneer Arms 12 gauge hammer coach gun named Hege-Trail Boss.

Hege is a well known seller in Germany like Centennial Trade Mark as a seller of F.A.U.L. licensed manufactured Colt Army 1860 in the past or Dixie Gunworks in the US today.

F.A.U.L = Fabrique de'Armes Unies de Liege at Herstal, no not FN.

That should be just about big enough. In addition to the three "fires" on my desk/in my lab, we're having a nice Jan tornado watch. Come on could we get one month off?

Are these storms getting you WD?

We had rain , wind and thunder all day ! Hard rain ! Right now the rain is turning to ice ! 58 degrees this morning , 34 at feeding time , 32 now. Supposed to be 17 in the morning ! Luckily for us the tornado warnings were a couple counties east of us. Waiting to see round 2 tomorrow......talking 3-8 inches of snow.....you know.....depending.....LOL Creator keeps life interesting ! Hope everyone is safe and well fed !

We didn't have any damage -- I still have one tree to check. But, it was a wild day.

By noon, we were in the low 70's F with rain. You'd go outside and you could just feel the bad stuff coming. We were bathed in that warm, muggy Gulf air. Heavy, gray clouds were racing northwest all day until the front came in and everything start blowing the opposite direction. Lots of wind.

Right before I left work, I ran about the plant making sure the second shift staff knew what to do if the storm sirens went off. I didn't think we'd need it, but it had been July since we had covered storm safety. Boy, was I wrong. Fifteen minutes later, I was opening my front door when the sirens started. I couldn't get the cats into the safe room, especially once the wind picked up and the hail started. Little areas of rotation kept popping up all along the front. One warning would end and another start.

The cats are more sensitive than the National Storm Prediction Center. They would start wailing and head for the kitty storm shelter (my closet), two or three minutes before the sirens would start again. My Siamese is still acting like the sky is falling. She may be right. This morning, it's 32F and snowing.

Somebody is out there somewhere, thinking of you and the impact you made in their life.
It's not me....I think you're an idiot !

There's a chance you might not like me ,

but there's a bigger

chance I won't care

Keep warm and safe WD. I'm glad you don't have to get out on the roads.

Our snow, such as it was, has melted. It's going to be down to freezing again tonight. Then back up into the 70's, of course during the work week :(
