So what was your favorite Xmas toy as a kid?

Just remembering the ole 'A Christmas Story' and the bb gun, etc. Do you remember your most favorite toy you received as a kid??

Me, of course had to be my first bicycle. It was purple and man took off on it once I got it out on the driveway.

The other one was actually my brothers but both of us played with it constantly, Weeble Wobbles..... And, they never fell down!! hahaha

Oh and don't forget my Easy-Bake oven!!! wooo hooo made some mad brownies...

So what's yours??

We used to get new roller skates just about every Christmas - that was cool. But I think the best present I ever got were the Star Wars action figures that we got when I was about 12. We played with those things for hours....

Lucky You! We didn't have sidewalks to skate on and the streets were gravel. We could not skate at the community center because the cement was painted and the wheels messed up the paint.

I think the best Christmas I ever had was when I was 11. Mom and dad got me my first electric guitar. It was used but in like new condition. Just about picture perfect. Top brand name too, Gibson! Set mom and dad back for a long time but it was worth it. Dad had to get a second job that year to pay for it.

Mom and dad are gone now but I still have that guitar. Been over 40 years now and still looks as good as that Christmas day. I play it almost everyday.

Thanks mom and dad! I love you and miss you!

I was 8 the x-mas the cabbage patch craze hit & I had total faith that Santa would bring me one, as did my sister (who was 6). I was at my Grandma's. My parents headed from kingston to Ottawa in a blizzard on x-mas eve to get them & then up to my grandma's in the Muskoka's arriving just before we all woke up (cause of the bad weather). It was a great x-mas, all thanks to Santa! lol.
The other 2 gifts that stand out were my lite brite & my rainbow brite.

My favorite box was one from a fridge. My brother & sister & I would all get in it & ride it down the stairs.

One Christmas, while everyone had received their gifts from under the tree, there were scrolls on the tree that had my name on it as well as my youngest brother's name. We opened it and found instructions to go outside--I went to the front while my brother went to the back. When I looked outside, I noticed a new bike! I was so excited and so happy. I think I shouted with joy! My brother received a new bike, too. That Christmas was the most memorable for me.

I don't know.....my family doesn't believe in that holiday, so watching other kids get something used to make me sad and angry, but we used to do other things to make it fun......don't remember getting gifts......for my birthday till I was like 7...then no more gifts...ah well.....but we do celebrate my Grandmas birthday because it's the same day the 25th......

You boys musta been naughty..... And still are!!!

I don't remember any really stand out gifts. My parents always bought things in 3's cause there are three of us girls. Like three nightgowns, one for each of us. three bikes or three different dolls. I remember getting a lot of clothes.

Actually one gift I really remember, was about 10 years ago, my parents got me this awesome coat. It was beautiful!! When I opened it, I put it on and thanked them. Then a few months later, I looked under the tag and it had my sister's name!!!!! No wonder, my parents gave me this weird look when I was all fired up over that coat....

(NO WAY, I didn't give it to her. The tag had my name on it!!!! )

Well, we were dirt poor back then, so usually we didn't get much more than a big dinner, which at that time, was a big deal. But one year I made the little league baseball team as an outfielder. The problem was, I didn't have a glove! back then, many shared them, and would, after the inning ended, leave them at the position for the other kid. But I did always want one, and one Christmas, I got a brand new one! I was in heaven, and didn't learn for many years that that money was supposed to be a new pair of shoes for my dad!
I will never forget that, and though now I can buy most anything I ever need, I haven't forgotten what sacrifice and a father's love is!
