Squash brings down Cholesterol levels

A Native friend of mine told me that there is a particular squash that his cousin started eating (begins with a "C") that brought his cholesterol down after eating it once a week. None of the special medications had worked but this particular squash did! Does anyone know the name of it?

YELLOW & ORANGE: Consuming fruits and vegetables from this color group can keep your immune system strong helping to fight off infections, may lower the risk of some cancers, maintain vision and heart health. The more commonly known foods in this category are: carrots, oranges, mangoes, sweet corn, yellow peppers, cantaloupes, yellow squash, tangerines and grapefruit. All are grown locally and available throughout the year.
Maybe ?

I immediately did a Google search and found recipies of all kinds for it.
My friend's wife, who gave me the information, said she gets it at the grocery store in the vegetable department... up in the bins.

It would be wonderful to hear how others prepare it.
