I went up to Idaho once and the week before the trip I opened up a new checking account hoping that my check would post while I was up there considering we were leaving before payday ..... NO DEAL! so I shamefully borrowed $$ from my sis :( same thing happened when we went to Schemitzun. The year it rained out at ASU was sad too, and I definitely remember Denver March when we got snowed in, stranded and went po' broke! *LOL* more war stories for the kids I guess :p

For me, it was the .20 cents on the dollar payout at Flagstaff (same for other head staff and contest winners) after four days of traditional and contest sessions during the Memorial Day weekend ... and the zero payout at the NDN Time powwow the following weekend. Being burned two weekends in a row is very bad. See the separate threads for full details. I mean people were stranded (host drums, MCs, contest winners).

It was East Lansing......WAY BACK WHEN.......mega misquitos....no good dancing....no good sound system....no fun....no $hit. :violin: We were supposed to be at Toronto or someplace like that instead.

my worst crappiest p/w would be last yr when me and my frens planned to camp at the p/w since we all didn't have much $$$ so we thought " oh well at least its cheap " how clueless can we get !? well none of us didn't really think about it cuz the only thing we ever thought about was the $$$, our clothing , our sleeping bags and also our pillows . we all chipped in for room since we left on a thursday,nehow the next morning we all got ready and headed for the p/w grounds ,found a spot to set up our tent ,after we put it up we all put our stuff in and headed for the mall cuz the p/w didn't start till evening plus it was also very HOT !!! which is why we hit the malls not just to go shopping but stay in a place where it had a/c nehow afterwards when we returned as we were driving by the p/w grounds one of my frens said " lets see how our tent is doin' ?" when we all looked over , our tent was FLAT !!! as a board .......needless to say there was a bunch of hot guys ( drum group ) camped right beside us practically our next door neighbors ,well......guess what ??? they helped us put our tent up ( nice way to pick up some hot nish ) we felt like a bunch of idiots ( guess u can say we're not such good campers )cuz none of us didn't bring any chairs nor food and no matress ,well at least we had some $$$ but the worst part was when we were sleeping that night ,the most uncomfortable sleep i ever had cuz every time i rolled over i would roll back the other way ,turns out i was sleeping on a hill and one of my frens was sleeping ona rock and my other fren was sleeping ona ant hill ,luckly those ants didn't come into the tent nehow that next day i was getting ready for grand entry , one of my frens were eating and she was tryinto help me at the same time and all of a sudden a bacon fell off from her cheese burger fight into my clevege and one of those hot guys just happened to walk by when the incident occured and that guy said " oooh BACON !!! so thats where all the good foods r !!! ( i wanted to die )

I was reliving the deserts of the middle east. It's located north of San Bernandino. It sucked bad! the wind was blowing dirt everywhere, it was hot and the dancers were fake. I couldn't stand it. We eventually left and will never go back.

After an 11 hr straight thru drive my family and I(taking two vans) got to a powwow only to find out it was a "hobbyist" event!!!! grrrrrr :Angry
