Where was the most beautiful place you have been to?

undefinedundefined Where was the most beautiful place you have been to?

The place that was breath-taking for me was Hungry Horse, Montana. It was the most beautiful place I've ever seen. The most I remember from Montana is that it was always raining. Haven't been up there for almost five years. But I plan on traveling up there sometime next year. Now I want to know from all of you.

I've been every frickin where...damn near...w/ the military..and working for the Military, but to me...the prettiest place is up around Manitoulin Island in summer/fall. Just TOO gorgeous...and lots of nice people....but I always would pick the Glakes area...at least in summer!

Last year I was blessed with a trip to the Grand Canyon from my sister. We flew in by helicopter and landed about 3500' down in it. Someone said there it is as we approached it and it was breathtaking! To see such beauty was awesome. I will probably never see anything this beautiful again!

(Of course the Texas Hill Country in the spring with it's wildflowers is beautiful itself.)

Hawaii, or anywhere in the states after redeploying from some ungodly place like the middle east. You folks don't know how good you have it until you see how others live in screwed up places.

Yep, No Place Like Home

I've seen some pretty sights. Alaska has a lot, Seattle area, Grand Canyon, lots in California and Oregon.

But everyday driving home I realize I'm very lucky. I drive off the table land down into the valley that's green beyond belief this summer. To the west are the Wind River Mountains, to the north - the Owl Creek Mountains, and the river running between them, the Big Wind. On the other side of the river I see the ranch where I grew up. There's trees, pastures, sandstone cliffs, rolling hills, Black Mountain, Crowheart Butte. And the fiery sunset last night was TO DIE FOR!!!

Lil'wat Nation aka Mt. Currie, BC during all of my trips I've seen many beautiful people and places, done lots of exciting things, but the most beautiful place is HOME. There's nothing like coming home and feeling the love!!

Wyo,

I have to agree. When I thought about this thread one of the pictures that came to mind was the Wind River Canyon scene with rain and sunshine at the same time! It looked like an expensive painting!

The other is Stressa, Italy.

The hotel we stayed in was one that was featured in "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous." Behind the hotel was a tramway leading up to the snow covered Alps. Directly in front of our hotel was a white sandy beach with palm trees surrounding Lake Stressa. In the middle of the lake was three islands. One island had a medieval monestary on it with an abby, statues and garden. There were many boats on the lake.

And too boot... I was feelin' kinda romantic! *LOL (but, that's another story!)

Yeez!

And I guess it's the feelings associated with a place that can make it the MOST beautiful out of the bunch.

Supai AZ towards the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Beautiful crystal clear waterfalls and blue pools of cold natural string water. No tv, radio, or telephone.

Like C, I've been all over the place so it's hard to pick. I loved the beauty of the 1000 Islands in Canada in the spring. The Lincoln Memorial at midnight in the middle of winter. The view of the bay at Antiqua, Guatamala. Those are what come to mind first from my travels.

this is a tough question!

i really think Montana is a beautiful state...especially up by Pablo. i also enjoy the Paha Sapas (Black Hills) here in SD. i use to live down there and each time i passed Bear Butte i just had a wonderful feeling inside...so serene i just really enjoy being down there. i also like Spearfish Canyon and all the waterfalls and mountains!

AGGGHHH i love all the people who love montana too!!! Saint Ignatius Montana is one of the most beautiful places i've ever been and i've been lucky enough to go all over the country and a few places around the world. i'm glad to live here but i get lonesome for the crow rez sometimes--back in the hills behind lodge grass with sunshine and the mountains when the wind blows through the tall grass. man, i cant wait for crow fair!!
