How about hearing the first beat of the drum during grand entry & entering into the dance arena, prepared to dance your weekend away. Oh, and I forgot to add a good 49 with a lot of knowledgable singers around the drum who can keep people moving until the crack of dawn.......and lot's of Mt. Dew for me because I don't drink. :D

scharbear 04-06-2002 01:52 PM

:D Suz...that first beat of the drum always goes right to my heart...don't get to hear it enough over hear either.

A big bowl of captain crunch and saturday morning cartoons...or it used to be that once upon a time... Now it is a bag of chips and cartoon network (Powerpuff girls) with my little girl. Ahhhh that is zen , especially if I have all the housework done and nothting to distract me.

MuzeBl 04-07-2002 11:13 AM

Sonogram heartbeats...baby's breath...watching a baby sleep.

ahhh, the good ol' days.

Mountains, thunderstorms, watching thunderstorms rollin in from up in the mountains.

Motorcycle rides...
....nice cruises on some lovely scenic back road
.... 155mph blasts with my hair ablaze.....

*sigh*

Sprocketali 04-07-2002 12:47 PM

Hmm..all of those are wonderful! THere aren't many to add really...

how about...falling in love with someone so deeply that they drive you to write poetry...

waking up to all of your pets snuggled up to you in your bed...

hiking to the top of a really tough trail and looking out over the trees...

capturing a moment in a photograph that sticks with you for years...

--A Baby's first cry after birth.
--The smell of Stetson on a fine lookin' man.
--Watching a wild mother rabbit nurse her babies.
--Laughing at the squirrels as they hang on my screen door, begging for food, or the blue jay sitting on my window sill waiting for his treat. (My husband likes to feed the animals that hang in our yard.)
--The scent of real leather in the air
--The smell of hay.
--Calling one of my kid's and having one of my
grandkids :Angel2 answer the phone in their little, just learning to talk, voices, "Hi gamaw hix fum for-i-da."

You can wake up now :Sleeping I'm done. :)

Singing Eagle 04-10-2002 12:47 PM

a few of mine I just haaaaad to mention

sunrise ceremony on the first day of spring ceremonies after a loooong winter

the sound of my husband's voice

listening to my daughter laugh so hard she snorts

when my mom calls me her "pet name" for me

"chattin" on msn with my sister and its like we're in the same room

being cold in bed and moving over to my husband's side and finding it empty but still warm from his body heat

the first bit of steam in the sweat and the first beats of the drum when you think "here we go!"

Lion Lover 04-10-2002 07:50 PM

Montana Forever!

Standing on the Great Divide looking across the mountain ranges with fluffy white clouds overhead and the feeling you could reach up and touch the heavens if you were on tippy toes!

A close second is driving across Eastern Washington, thru the scrub of the prairie through the palisades and the coulees imagining the cayuse ponies of my mother's ancestors racing across the wide open spaces long before anyone ever heard of the Grand Coulee Dam or I-90.

luvstraightdancrs 04-24-2002 03:29 AM

Watching my hubby and kids dance...
Listening for their voices when they are at the drum...
A neck rub from one of my sons....
Little pecks from my husband...
When my 21 year old daughter sits on my lap, when surrounding chairs are full.........
Seeing or talking to my grandbabies..
Holding a friends new born while he sleeps....
Delivering my 2nd grandson.....
Making a new rig for anyone of my family and seeing them in it for the first time...
Being with my husband, and best friend every day.:2:

scharbear 05-01-2002 01:31 PM

Ah yes EagleEyes....seeing an Eagle fly anywhere is a natural high and something I truely miss seeing. We do not have eagles over here on the islands. We have the E'wa which is a graceful, large bird but nothing like the eagles.

acgal 05-02-2002 12:36 AM
