I went to Shoshoni Indian Days. I had a blast!!! My dad was one of the MCs (Mitch "Chiefie" Parker). It had been years since I been to Ft. Washakie. We used to live there when he was a cop. I must say its good to go back to a place I consider a home away from home. I love the mountainous view and the people are very warm and welcomed all the visitors. I plan to go back. I haven't danced for a long while, and going back to this pow-wow inspired me to get my butt back out there. I enjoyed the contests, and I also enjoyed the food!

I will do that for you. By the way, I'm one of their baby sisters. I'm one of the twins. Before I forget, I really enjoyed your representation at the pow-wow. Good dancing and nice articulate speaking. My bro and sis mention you from time to time. See ya around!

Seriously? I should be one of the first one's to know this, but of course back here, I don't live on the rez anymore. I'm a city N8V. I plan to attend the next pow-wow if my pops goes. I hope so, I had fun last year.

No. Ethete is a celebration sponsored by the Northern Arapaho tribe. Eastern Shoshone Indian Days is in Fort Washakie and of course......is sponsored by the the Eastern Shoshone Tribe.

It has been rumored that The Northern Arapaho tribe is in financial limbo and is considering combining the Ethete Celebration (usually held the 3rd weekend in July), the Northern Arapaho Housing Pow-wow (usually held the 2nd weekend in June) the Arapahoe Community Pow-wow (usually held the 2nd or 3rd weekend in August) and the Father's Day Celebration in Arapahoe. I haven't seen or heard anything lately......maybe someone else will post the latest info.
