We had a really good time this year............the vendor's and the food vendor's were excellent!! Did ya'll get one of those baked sweet potatos??? It was so good!!!
It was great to also have a supply vendor there so we could pick up a few beading supplies.
Saw lots of neat stuff...........bought some Rez Dog T-shirts for hubby and son.
All in all a great day...........great dancing.........and lots of fun visiting.
But, hey...........do any of you know what the two guys with the white mud paint and dreadlocks was about. The guy with the dreadlocks came by me once when we were dancing and was shaking his bundle of cedar all in my face.............jeez.
Okay, so that was kind of strange.........but those guys were serious...........any one know anything about them?

Hi nancy jo
There was a friend of mine who wore mud or a clay on his body ,he danced intertribal and blanket dances.hes honnering his ansters he is black and is well known
in many artise communitys,he is a dancer and is deaf,he has no ear hearing but with his heart and the vibration of the music.he reads ppl and life and his heart is great.I did not see him dance with anyone as in bringing a friend with him,he did dance along side us a few time tho.
i dont think he is the person your discriping i have never seen him betray or act in a manner that intrudes on anyone space.such as waving ceder in a dancer face.but he dose look diffrent.

i did not eat at the powwow but jessi did he got a killiaw[Sp] taco
he kept on trying for me to eat but i had no hunger,if only everyday i could feel like that.lol
what was the sweetpotato your talking about?

Well, seriously............I was just wondering about those guys. I'd never seen anyone dress like that or even dance the way they were at local pow wows. Wondered if they might be aboriginal from Australia or something like that. Just curious.

Nope......can't make the Houston one.
Wish we could. Got to stay home and take care of some stuff here.
We're having a meeting saturday to continue on with our plans for a benefit pow wow in April for the Murrow Childrens Home. I'll be head lady at that one.
It'll be April 12 in Gainesville, TX.
I'll post more info on it later.

Our kids were there, said it was a good dance. Had a nice time. Both came home with seconds in their categories!

Yeah there is one this weekend and then one next weekend. I haven't been to either since I am new to Texas, but I am going to check them out. I'll let you all know how they are....I expect this weekend to be decent. They're contesting I think with a 1st place of $500. That usually will draw some folks in.

Hey Wardancer, we'll see you guys in Wichita. Lee and Liz invited us to come down to dance with them. Lee is having a special event.

Hope you guys can come over to KCKCC on the 17th.

Way to go Colene for placing FIRST in Womens Fancy, well at least announced!!!!LOL Maybe a tabulator error, the people stuffing envelopes? I guess it got cleared up, she didnt take the money and it was a fun powwow. Makes me wonder about my place, if it shoulda been higher or lower, oh well who cares anyway as long as you danced hard right. Good one Austin.

Awww...that's too bad. She's a really good smooth dancer, and I enjoy watching her dance, but she's never given a fair chance by the judges who select well known dancers on their notoriety rather than their dancing ability.
