You're building a loom?

I'm having string heddle flashbacks. I did too much weaving in the 70's, LOL. Being 14 - 15 at the time, precision was NOT my middle name. A lot of repair heddles.

Schacht makes lovely stainless heddles. Or if you prefer quieter and lighter Texsolv heddles are nice. Glimakra uses them on their big floor looms. Not good for the backstrap, but they'll save your sanity when you're setting up the shaft.

Why a jack and not a countermarch? Sticky warp or tight warp and you'll need the heavy shafts to get a good shed.

16 harness? Dang. I quit weaving about the time everyone got 8 harnesses and a friend of mine had a serial port on her loom to connect to the Compu Dobby. Products from my 36" Harrisville four harness didn't wow anymore.

Sold the loom, bought a torch. Much happier with silver and beads.

Going out to eat with an old friend. If he asks me to marry him ONE MORE TIME, I will probably say yes....hahahhaha, freak him out.

Cooking for my cousins funeral while spending time with my mum, aunty, sisters and cousins. It's sad but never boring.

Techniclly, it's my own design, but falls into the jack category. It's counter-weighted instead of countermarch.

I don't have pictures from this week, but here it was last week:

Is that a table loom?

Are you building your own reed or do you just have a short section in there?

I'm building my own reed. It's a floor loom, that table is part of the frame. It's all bolted together. I'm working on the harnesses right now.
