Braves pitching let them down big time tonight, and the @#$^&^*@&@&$%& gNats ended up winning. Pitching with a 10 run lead in the 4th-and they blew it. I'm thinking it won't be the last time we lose because of pitching. Finally, they get a pitching coach that is able to get it through their heads that trying for the wall every at bat isn't the way to win games, and pitching sucks. (:

I saw that the Braves are giving away games now.

And the KC Royals need to remember the movie, A League of Their Own.

There's no crying in baseball!

And the Yankees are still playing good ball.

Go Bronx Bombers!

On a more serious note... It seems baseball has become a rich man's sport. Wifey n I were talkin bout what it would cost to get games on MLB tv... come to find out they will only let me watch recordings of my favorite team, and that is 120 a year. I would rather listen to live radio than watch a recorded game.

The cable company wants over a hundred bucks a month ... its cheaper to go to the ballpark!

I will stick to reading stats in the paper LOL

I would have liked to have gotten that Oriole/White Sox game today. I bet that was weird with no one around to watch except the media.

No. They said yesterday it was the first time in MLB history. The O's were supposed to play the Rays this weekend, at home, but they have now changed it to Tampa.

I prefer to watch the Yankees of course, but I can watch other teams play as well. I do not care for sports packages on TV. Besides, I like the ESPN radio to check out the games there as well.
AM 700 here and also AM 710 in WA state.

Yanks are still playing well. I hope they can keep this up. Long way to the playoffs.

Go Yankees!

Braves had a pitcher throw a complete game today-Shelby Miller. Took him 99 pitches to get through 9 innings. That's a first for this season. Braves and Phillies are 1 and 1 for this series. Tomorrow night will break the tie.

Lou Gehrig
Game-Used Bat Found
Family Used for Home Protection

Talk about hitting the jackpot ... a NY family learned a baseball bat specifically kept in the house for beating off intruders ... IS WORTH A FORTUNE ... 'cause it was used by Lou Gehrig!
The story is pretty crazy ... the family says they came into possession of the bat decades ago when a family member of a former NY Yankees groundskeeper gave it to them as a gift.
Clearly, they thought it was just a regular bat ... and kept it behind the front door of the home for "protection" ... and it stayed there for 30 years.
That is, until someone realized it wasn't just an old piece of wood ... but a 1929-31 Lou Gehrig game-used bat ... one of the few Gehrig bats known to exist.
Now, the bat is hitting the auction block through Love of the Game Auctions ... and we're told the opening bid will be $20,000.
Pretty cool, right?

Braves beat the Reds tonight. That Miller kid was pitching again. After being swept by the gNats, I figure I will be real tired of the color red by the time this team gets out of Ohio. LOL! If I hear one more time that "Bryce Harper is the hottest hitter on the planet" you will hear me scream from N.Y. to California. ROFL! He is a good player, but that all goes down the drain for me with his arrogance.

I watch the Yankee scores/stats when they scroll across the bottom during a Braves game. I like to see how BMac is doing. :)

Not a good series against the Royals for the Yanks. Still in first but only by a game now.
