Number of teams to win 100+ games in past 5 seasons:
2004 = 2 teams
2005 = 1team
2006 = 0 teams
2007 = 0 teams
2008 = 1 team

And the Bronx Bombers on a roll...keep in winning and get to the 100 games won mark. Not many teams have done this the past few seasons. As of tonite there are 49 games left on the Yankees schedule. They are currently 70-43. Best team in MLB.

There are about 40-45 games left to play till the playoffs...an injury or two can dash a teams playoff hopes, or help a team out...gotta keep the faith! Go Yankees!

The AL MVP is still too close to call...Mauer from the Twins is hitting like crazy and Jeter is having one of his best seasons...oh yeah, YANKEES are only 19 games away from winning 100 games...but need to win the World Series...that is the Empires goal.

If the Tigers make the playoffs, then Miguel Cabrera will get some votes too. But personally, I'd vote for Jeter. The guys a marvel! His game seems to have improved back to what he was years ago, amazing!

Jeter is on the verge of passing Lou Gerhig's hitting record...I would be voting for Jeter...

oh yeah, the Tigers while they are winning, it seems they are waiting for the Chi Sox to catch up...

had to look at the standings AL central, the Tigers are in 1st place....didn't know the Twins passed the White Sox recently....in order for the Twins or the White Sox to get in the playoffs, they will have to win their respective division outright...I think the wild card is for either team is not attainable. The Red Sox aren't going away anytime soon. There are 31 games left in the regular season as of today.

( the wild card could happen...MLB is crazy like that...I go back and look at the NY Mets..had a huge lead a few seasons ago and lost it...and didn't make the playoffs either. )

Geez, no Dimaggio! No Mantle! No Ruth! No Gehrig! I could go on...they have had one hell of a lot of great players....for what seems like EVER! But as great as Jeter is, the best current Yankee might have to be Mariano Rivera....it's amazing how long he has stayed at peak performance.

I know...Lou Gehrig is my fave Yankee...there are so many great Yankee players, Munson Maris, Hunter, Martinez, etc...whoever made the graphic couldn't add them all...Rivera is just smoking right now BTW!!!

Yanks got 6 hitters with @ least 20+ HR's and two with 17 & 19 as of today. Last Yankee era to have that many hitters was the Mantle era... The pitching was off on the last game, but the LUMBER took over as usual.

The Tigers I seen they are winning at home, but on the road they have a losing record as does the Twins and White Sox. And all teams have trouble playing the AL East and AL West. AL Central is real close now...only 30 games left...Tigers need to keep winning.

If the playoffs started today, it would be the Tigers vs Yankees, and Red Sox vs Angels.

...and the Yanks got seven players with 20 or more HR's. Jeter needs to hit 3 HR and we got eight...Yanks on a roll!!!

Posada-20
Matsui-23
Rodriguez-24
Teixiera-32
Damon-31
Cano-22
Swisher-23

Jeter is 9 hits away from passing Lou Gerhig's all time hits in a Yankee uniform. The record is 2,271 set by Lou back in 1923-1939.

89-50 as of today...best record in the MLB. GO Bronx Bombers!!!

The wild card is still close...the Red Sox are losing again but so are the Rangers...its still too close to call on the AL...even the NL wild card is tough...the Rockies are winning but lots of games left...the Giants hanging around still...

Yanks still got the momentum...90-50 so far. 22 games left in the regular season for the Bronx Bombers.

Bosox are up 1.5 games in the wild card of the Rangers...getting real close in that race. The Rockies are still holding on to their wild card...up by 3.0 games on the Giants.

Phillies, Cardinals, Dodgers are leaders in the NL.

Yankees, Tigers, Angels are leaders in the AL.
