Too me, it will end up being Spurs and Piston rematch for sure...those 2 teams look too strong for both Cavs and Jazz.

Get the fishing boat ready for the Jazz....Inside the NBA brought to you by JG not Hy

SPURS WIN 91-79.....GO UP 3-1.....
Well, so much for the Jazz....but hey, they will be back and soon. Memo to the athletic shoe companies....Deron Williams in the REAL deal....and is or soon will be, a premiere point guard in this league...he's the total package...strength, size, skills, and heart...hmmmm maybe that's how Illinois went 35-1 with him at guard. And Carlos Boozer is playing like a poor man's Carl Malone...he's become a damn solid NBA forward. But Mahmet (memo) Okur has reverted to how he played in Detroit...as a perimeter floater....and non factor...hey Mahmet, people 6'11" and solidly built are NOT shooting guards in this man's league...if you would play in the paint....you'd still be a PISTON.
And who stepped up in the 4th qtr of a 1 point game? Emanuel Ginobili...this guy may be a 'flopper' but he's got ice water for blood...and never hesitates to take the ball at crunch time...he and Olberto played very well here...
Part of being champions is knowing how to play and take shots when the pressure is on....as well as not to panic when things don't go your way....and the Jazz are still learning this...but take this to the bank...they are coming....and will be a solid contender for the next several years...as long as Deron stays there and healthy......
LBJ beats Pistons.....no not Lyndon Baines Johnson...but 'king' LeBron James....he played a very solid overall game, and there's nobody in the league who can check this guy 1 on 1.....however, the rest of his team is really a sub par NCAA level team..so unless he REALLY excels, they will lose as usual. I don't think Detroit is going to stand around and watch him eliminate them, eh Michael Jordan?? he's gonna get roughed up....and triple teamed...Chauncey and Rip have to play better too...and do better at controlling the tempo....and dictating how the game is played...and NOT having James go crazy in the open court....
The PISTONS are a bizarre team, in that no one player is really all that special, or ever a first team all star, etc...but they have good overall talent, and team play esp. on defense..will it be enough to overcome Duncan/Parker/Ginobili? only if every PISTON is on their game...and no let downs....Duncan presents serious matchup problems for them, esp. with Ben Wallace gone....Rasheed has that much athletic ability, but is unpredictable...and not consistent on D, if he is, The PISTONS will win...

PISTONS lose, behind 3 games to 2!!!
Well Pistons fans, we got 'em right where we want 'em so now facing elimination in Cleveland! what a fate! But, these Pistons are nothing if not resilient....and they always seem to come back from adversity.
LeBron played his greatest game ever *get the hype and hoopla machine cranked up...brace yourselves....* and beat Detroit by scoring the last 25 points HIMSELF!!! So, we guard all the LeBronettes, and he goes crazy!!!! but now, it will get interesting...and see where he tries to get in a fight....and DOESN'T get suspended? memo to David Stern.....EQUAL justice under the law? yeah, right......but it is better this way...When the Pistons come back.....there will be no excuses....but it sucks though...the rules should apply to ALL! What if that had been Rasheed? he'd probably be exiled to San Quentin by now....
Anyways....he played a great game, and deserves all the glory....so one for the ages for him.....a MONSTER effort.

last season, this is the SAME place BOTH teams were in and guess who won? Yep, it wuz the Pistons. But this is a new season and we'll see if they can beat the # 1 team in the East. It went 7 games and Pistons came out on top....but, never say its over, till its over....(Yogi Berra)

he came up with that saying in case your wondering...

Inside The Nba Decline And Fall Of The Pistons

We are all witnesses! to the end of an era.....and the demise of the Detroit Pistons....who lose to the Cadavers 82-98. Was Le Bron the difference??? , well he had 20 pts but was 3-11 from the field, but got 14 pts on free throws!
So who let the dogs out? Daniel 'Boobie' Gibson a near rookie, who scored 31..with 5-5 from 3 pt range....the fouls were a major disparity, with Cleveland shooting 46 and Detroit only 27...but this really killed Detroit by having them in the bonus most of the game, and unable to play any defense at all...or drive to the hoop and risk offensive fouls. But despite this, the officials weren't the main reason Detroit is going fishing w/ Kenny Smith...it was something I never thought I'd see....they QUIT!!!!! and spent more time bickering with each other than with the opposition! They were destroyed on the boards....53 to 33....and shot the ball poorly from 3 with 3-14..........but even more damning...they appeared listless, and ready to lose...without putting up the fight they have been known for! the loose balls and long rebounds almost always go to he who wants it most and Cavs got the majority of these. This team who has had a really nice run in the East for years, is about to come unstuck and be in a rebuilding mode...but without much of a core from which to build...and Flip Murray, who was lauded for bringing more offense to the Pistons, was BADLY out coached, and appeared to have lost his player's confidence....Detroit didn't run any of the sets that got them here..and were content to let Cleveland dictate the tempo....and Detroit is not, and never was, a great perimeter shooting team...in a 1/2 court set, without screens for Rip...and Chauncey penetrating...
This was the WORST Chauncey 'Mr. Big Shot' Billups has ever looked, he didn't shoot much, or have assists, and was almost reduced to being a spectator! he looked confused, and depressed. Nice way to head in to a free agent status there Chauncey!
Detroit's vaunted low post players Rasheed and Webber and Prince, were made to look like Larry Moe and Curly by the Cavs...and Rasheed, predictably, blew up...and was ejected. His routine has grown old....yes, Varejao flops more than new automobile designs by Edsel, but you CAN'T let that run you off your game....
I have seen many dynasty- mini dynasty teams, and when they come apart, it isn't pretty...but I thought Detroit would squeeze another year out of these guys...so I'm the chump....but hey, there are 30 teams...and 3 are (make that were!) still alive...so they had a great run...but it's (Ok cue Yogi Berra) OVER!!!!
So, what does the future hold for the NBA east?? they are going to be totally dominated for YEARS....since the best teams already were in the west, and the top 2 lottery picks went there as well.....and Miami/Detroit are no longer championship material...Will the Cadavers rise? not unless they get a couple more players....maybe the Bulls will be the next to elevate to that level....but the East no longer has a 'beast'
R.I.P. the Pistons....great run....see ya in several years maybe....but it's time to clean house...and maybe even have a decent draft choice or two....(an NO MORE DARKOS!! LOL)

LOL)

I am so tired right now..its must be the jet lag from my flight the other day, as I didn't watch the game last nite. So I checked the score on the internet this morning and, wow! Cavs are in. I hope they win cause that city needs a winner. I've been to Cleveland and its a nice town, but they don't have much in any championships to celebrate. Indians got 1 World Series and the Browns??? Not even sure about them if they won anything. Good luck Cavs....

Was there any word on where Kobe is going yet?

Watched Game 1 and it was not a good game to watch. The Cavs got outrebounded and outplayed my Parker and Duncan from the Spurs. Ole LeBron didn't play well at all. Still not sure if the Spurs will sweep this series. It was only game last nite, but the way the Spurs played it looked like this series will be over in four games.

Inside The Nba--finals Edition

Well, one game to none Spurs....so 3 to go. This game was a classic example of team defense, and how great a low post player Tim Duncan is. Look close, and you can see that the entire plan is to guard the perimeter, and funnel everything to the side of the court that Tim is on...the entire defense revolves around him.
And T Parker is as fast as anybody ever with the ball, and driving the lane...he is almost impossible to stop one on one..unless you do like Chauncey used to do, and bang on him physically....
So far, Anderson Varejao, he of the hairdo, leads in the all important 'Greg Louganis memorial' diving category....tho Manu is still a contender. I LOVE Manu and his all around game, and heart....but he's a world class flopper too...these guys both look like a fish outta water everytime anybody breathes on them...
LeBron was WAAAY off his game, and played terrible, but the game was still not a blowout, so in Cleveland, he will play better and the Cavs will win a game or two (the finals are 2-3-2 for homecourt..so 3 in a row at Cleveland) but in the end, the Spurs, and Duncan, will raise the trophy....

I just hope the Cavs win a few games...They reminded me of when the 1993 PHX Suns played their first 2 games against the Bulls...they looked like they didn't even belong in the Finals then...but they did step it up in the 3rd & 4th games. Even game 6....but they lost that one...it was close though. Thank you John Paxson.

And this series is pretty much over...I missed game 3 cause of work..but not matter, the outcome was the Spurs by 3...
Hope the Cavs at least win game 4...

There was some talk on ESPN on the Spurs and are they a dynasty team now? I say no...A team has to win 3 or more championships in a ROW to be considered a dynasty. Only 3 teams are in that category, The Celtics, Lakers, and Bulls are the only ones who have gone to become a dynasty...

Inside The Nba Final Edition 2007

CONGRATS TO THE SPURS......WHO SWEEP THE CLEVELAND CADAVERS ...IN CLEVELAND. LEBRON NEVER WAS ABLE TO TAKE ANY GAME OVER, AND SHOT TERRIBLY TOO, BUT THEN HE WAS BEING DOUBLE AND TRIPLE TEAMED TOO. THIS MAY BE THE WEAKEST EASTERN CONFERENCE TEAM TO EVER BE IN THE FINALS, WITH ONE GOOD PLAYER, AND A BUNCH OF STIFFS WHO BELONG IN THE CBA.
TONY PARKER MVP AND HE PLAYED GREAT, AND IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST GUARD IN THE LEAGUE AT TAKING THE BALL TO THE HOLE...VERY BRAVE FOR A 6 FOOT EVEN GUY....AND QUICKNESS! OMG!! NICE YEAR FOR HIM, MVP AND EVA TOO! DAYUUMMM !!!
POPOVICH IS NOW TO BE INCLUDED IN ANY DISCUSSION OF THE GREAT COACHES....HE'S GOTTEN THE MOST OUT OF THIS TEAM, AND THEY ALWAYS HUSTLE, AND PLAY TEAM DEFENSE....NOT PRETTY AND NO NIKE COMMERCIALS...BUT VERY EFFECTIVE....
CAN'T HELP BUT THINK EVERY PISTON SHOULD BE KICKING THEMSELVES IN THE AZZ FOR HOW THEY ENDED THEIR ERA....AND WITH THEIR MYSTIQUE GONE, NEXT YEAR WILL BE A STRUGGLE TO EVEN GET BACK TO THE FINALS......
AND I GUESS THE DAVID STERN/REFEREE CONSPIRACY WAS DEFINITELY NOT THE CASE....LEBRON WAS TREATED THE SAME AS ANYBODY....BUT WONDER WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF HE DROVE MORE, AND PASSED LESS, LIKE D WADE DID .....
SO ANOTHER NBA SEASON COMES AND GOES AND 29 TEAMS, AND THEIR FANS ARE DISAPPOINTED....BUT THEN, THERE'S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR!!! HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL!!!!
SO CLOSING THE THREAD SEE YOU NEXT YEAR HOPE YOU ENJOYED IT ....
