Group to challenge Navajo Nationís plan for first casino

Albuquerque, New Mexico (AP)
Months before the Navajo Nationís first casino is scheduled to open, a group is planning to sue over the validity of legislation that provides for financing the development of that casino and others.
Albuquerque lawyer James Zion said the Navajo Nation was put on notice during early December that a group representing environmental activists, former tribal presidential candidates, a former Navajo interim leader and a man pushing for a tribal constitution is planning a lawsuit.
