Report: California Cowlitz tribe newest partner in casino plan

Vancourver, Washington (AP)

A Northern California tribal official confirms that the tribe is now a partner in an effort to build a casino resort near La Center in southwest Washington.

The Columbian newspaper says David Barnett, a Cowlitz member who has led efforts to build the project, has sold an undisclosed portion of his interest to the California tribe.
