Rule won’t affect Apache casino plan
Deming, New Mexico (AP)
A new rule that limits the distance between reservations and casinos they establish won’t affect an unopened casino built in southern New Mexico by the Fort Sill Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, a Bureau of Indian Affairs spokeswoman says.
Nedra Darling, from the BIA’s Washington, D.C., office, said the newly adopted rule also doesn’t apply to a casino proposed in southern New Mexico by Jemez Pueblo in north-central New Mexico.
