Spirit Lake tribe sets nickname vote

Fort Totten, North Dakota (AP)

The Spirit Lake tribe has scheduled an April vote on the University of North Dakota’s Fighting Sioux nickname and logo.

Susie Fox is an assistant to the tribal secretary. She says the nickname will be on the tribal primary election ballot April 21. She says the exact ballot language is still being decided.
