College Experience Interviews

Hello - I am masters student in Higher Ed at the University of Toledo and am currently taking a course on the 'American College Student'.

I am collecting research for my paper on student subpopulations and I am researching what it is like to be a Native American student in higher education.

I had an interview arranged with a student but they had to cancel last minute and I am a little desperate! Would any current or recently graduated students be willing to be interviewed? The interview will be anonymous and your information will be kept confidential (only answers to questions will be used in the paper, no identifying information). You can decline to answer any question they choose or end the interview at any point. If you have any questions about the interview you can contact my instructor, (contact information removed by moderator)

Thank you in advance!!
Meredith Errington

Wearing my moderator hat:

First, Ms Errington this forum is moderated. Posts must be approved by a moderator before appearing. Please be patient.

Second, I have removed the contact information from your post. Folks interested in participating can contact you via personal message. You may then exchange contact information. I would however, urge caution as you never know who might be responding or what their motive might be.

Wearing my former college prof hat (or mortar board):

I hope you have consulted with your instructor and she has determined that your project meets your institution's human research subject ethics guidelines, even if it is probably exempt from an institutional review board.

That said, one of the things you will learn is many Native people are tired of being studied, especially while in school trying to study. Good luck with finding someone who is willing to help.
