Cool What is he smoking in this picture?

I recently found this sketch while tag-saleling. I figured that it was peyote, but have no knowledge of native american culture. Does anyone know what it is and if there are any indicators as to what tribe he could be from?
THANKS

Stone and clay tubes, sometimes called cloud blowers, were used to smoke tobacco. Smoking of tobacco frequently is religious in nature and a form of prayer.

Smoking tube - Brooklyn Museum

Smoking tube - NPS collections

Smoking tube -- Vritual Museum of the Southwest

Peyote was/is used by certain peoples in religious ceremonies. It was not and is not consumed recreationally or widely.

It is a common stereotype to assume anything an Native person was smoking was/is a psychoactive substance. This is not true
