I think Zeke is right about the ever increasing bore that has seemed to take over this forum. I remember checking into threads every day and always having a intrest in something that was going on here. If there wasnt a good debate going on, there was usually someone sharing historical insight in the straight dance thread. But over the last 6 months it seems like I could check the threads about once a week and manage to keep up with everything.

On other forums that I frequent, there seems to be less of the fluff that this site has. The ads, arcade, way far off topic threads, and empy comments dont exist. Now, I know well and good that this is Paul's house and he is well within his powers to run his site as he sees fit. It just seems to me that the "fluff" is just a way for post count to be increased, ways to keep people on this site, increase advertizing revenue, etc. That all has its place, but at the same time, I think it degrades the quality of the forum content.

As for bannings...It is my observation that Paul seems to be a pretty nice guy that probably puts up with more than he should. If someone gets banned...they probably deserved it.

One thing this site has going for it is its searchability. This site maintains posts from WAAYY back and I dont have problem one finding half a dozen posts about a topic i'm searching.. This allows users to find answers to questions that might have already been answered. The problem is that topics may not get revisited. (except whites at powwows/wannabes/plastic medmen)

I enjoy this site as a way to keep in touch with current powwow trends, i like seeing craftwork produced and I think the site would be better off if a lot of the off topic nonsense was done away with. I think the site would attract posters with more to offer.

just my 2cent werf, take it or leave it.

Remember that this part of the year - November - January - is always our low point of the year. In fact there are threads like this every Decemberish.

Lots of people here like those things, and I don't want to do away with them. But when a new user comes to the forums, that stands out more than other things.

Part of the problem is my fault. We have some great topics and very knowledgeable people. I haven't done enough to feature them. For the new visitor it is difficult to find that info. I'm working on a major overhaul of the site. The new version will have ways for me to feature those posts and threads better!

So if you have ideas, please take the survey! I need to hear your ideas, comments, thoughts, etc!

Survey:
2009 PowWows.com User Survey

Thanks! Generally I'm a nice guy! :) Banning is always a last resort. I take it very serious.

I agree, and I'm working on fixing this. The games and off topic stuff have a place here, but it doesn't need to be in your face.

I appreciate the feedback! Thanks!

survey completed! Thanks for taking feedback.

I just want to sum up my thoughts with an analogy.

I think the site IS a sort of powwow in of itself. It's an open gathering for people and friends to share and have a good time, while helping and educating each other. At the same time we come here to have fun because all work and no play makes johnny a very boring boy. If I become king, I would run the site like I would run a powwow. Your moderator are your trusted ADs, MCs, and head people that keep watch and make sure things run smooth. But sometimes you go to a powwow and see a lot of what wasn't there before, like ferris wheels and midway type attractions. Cotton candy and elephant ear vendors start to replace the fry bread vendors..t-shirt, hoodie, and taiwan crafts become more abundant as the traditional crafts and native jewelry become less so. Things change as people adapt towards methods of making money that are easier and more productive, however is this what is really wanted or needed. I would keep mindful of what a "powwow" is, was, and should be....just sayin.

[email protected] run for the hills...hardly zeek...and as stated many times prior, skillet and i are the same person, but of course you never picked up that....sorry to ruin your on-going dillsuions, but i would never run to the hills because of you,i just have a real life and prefer to do real things...you were mildly amusing for a time, especially your attempts to rise above everyone with your mis-use of the english language, but that grew boring as did you...it was fun to laugh at you and i will thank you for that but the broken record syndrome you suffer from got equally boring....as someone pointed out,we dont have to make you look stupid, you do that perfectly well on your own....
the only dribbling youve done was down your chin or leg and as far as rim rattling,i think home depot had cheap toilet seats....
