My cat steals Goody bands from my daughter and plays hockey with them.

My evil feline princess was caught stealing ponytail holders from my friend's luggage. She plays wildly destructive hockey games with them. Last time she broke a lamp while running into an end table during a game. Her brother just stuffs them in holes, like the vents on the oven or heater ducts.

You know modern technology has given us these wonderful cloth-covered, rubber hair restraint devices called ponytail holders. If you can keep your cats from stealing them and stuffing them into the oven vents (phew!), they work wonders. I'd just skip the fuzzy, hot pink scunchies in your case. Or maybe not, if you really want to make a statement.
i have to agree with you on this bc my hair is past my *** and i mean yeah i pretty much have yanked it on everything there is and burnt it and all but i can wash just fine and i love my hair and will never cut it off

I found the holders work well as kitteh-proof locks on the doors under the bathroom sink. I didn't know the boys n girls could get in there until I saw Tom coming out with a pack of Temptations treats.

Mine really love that little plastic ring that comes off the top of the milk gallon jugs - or the plastic caps off a hair spray bottle.

Dang, at least yours will eat relatively easy to find treats. The evil feline princess only likes one kind of treat that I have to mail order by the case. And since I have to bribe her out of the living room before work with a kitty cookie, these are critical to my life. Or at least my peace of mind, know she's not actually emptying the bookcases while I earn her mortgage and food money.

This is why it's good to have a dog. Sleeps, eats, poops, drops a ball in your lap to throw, sleeps, eats, poops...

Speaking of hair... my dog has killed another vacuum cleaner. The score is now, Collie 4 Vacuums 0. I'm seriously thinking about spinning it to make a Chilkat robe.

Buy a cheap, used, Kirby made in the 1970s.

They're all steel and come completely apart with simple hand tools.

While it can be a messy job, there are no bags to purchase, the motor is strong, and there's nothing that can't be fixed.

My cat thinks all vacuums are the anti-christ. He hisses at them. I think it's because my son mistook him for a dust bunny when he was a kitten.

My two just love the leftover plastic rolls from scotch tape.

My Mom had a Kirby when we were growing up. That thing could suck the carpet off the floor! Weighed a ton, though.

My mom had a Kirby too. It was way older than the '70's. I think it must have been a 40 something model, or fifties at the earliest. It had hardly any suction at all.

A long time ago........

in a galaxy far, far, away, a wise, old Indian man once told me, "if you're going to wear your hair long, then it must be braided or pulled back." Personally, I kinda like that "rule" becuse I can remember when my folks would talk about someone's hair lookin "ratty". I've let my hair grow long until I cut it for death of a family member. I have not heard of an origin or meaning of growing hair long, and I agree with what Joe's dad says, "it's a rebellious act against old white men". Maybe what should be discussed also is, why do we cut our hair for death of a loved one?

I cut my hair when my parents and both sets of grandparents died. I put my hair in their spirit house and retrieved it when the headstone potlatch took place a year later. Folks could tell how long I'd been in mourning by how short/long my hair was.

That's why I keep a lint roller at work. Especially in summer ya can't get out the door without getting covered in cat fur.
