Question Vinyl to CD

Does anyone out there know where I could get an old 1957, 33 1/3 rpm record of Indian Songs of the Southwest transferred to CD?

You can do it yourself with a record player and the line-in (blue jack) input on your computer. You may need a phono preamp. You can also buy a device at most big-box stores that you can plug your turn table into that should work as well.

You looking for somebody to do it for you?

Find a nearby music studio, on a slow day they should not charge much.

Or, do you have a computer? Here is CNET article:

How to record audio with your computer - CNET

Finally, you can purchase a USB turntable, do it yourself:

The closest things to decent USB turntables are the Audio-Technica AT-LP120 and AT-LP240 USB turntables

This suggestion ABOVE ^^^ is based upon comments section following this CNET article:

USB turntables: The worst-ever audio product? - CNET

Is this the old Folkways recording?

If so, then you can buy it as a CD on demand from the Smithsonian

I never liked the idea of a USB turntable because they aren't made very well compared to either a DJ quality system today or a good vintage unit like my Marantz from the late 70s.

The item I was referring to above is a USB audio input device that is sometimes bundled with something like Roxio software.

Not being sure of the poster's tech level,

I read an hour's worth of reviews of USB TT products; the Audio-Technika is a good bet to convert/rip to MP3 with decent results.

He can then put the new MP3 file through mixer software.

Marantz has the Solid Gold sound!!! I still have one from days of old!

I also have a NUMARK turntable with a USB out that connects into a computer, but the newer ones convert directly into an iPod.

My dad gave me his old Marantz system, it has the turntable, AMP, tape deck and the coolest piece of all the AM/FM tuner with the gyroscopic tuner which was the best analog tuning mechanism I have ever used. All pieces still work a treat.
