Casting Call for Native Voices at the Autry
Posted by: "PR" [email protected] yljdl Date: Wed Sep 6, 2006 1:01 pm (PDT) Casting Now for 2006/2007 Season of Native Voices at the Autry Saturday, October 14, 2006 9:a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. Call backs on Sunday, October 15, 2006 Native Voices at the Autry is holding an open call for Native American actors of all ages for our 2006/2007 season. Selected actors will be paid to participate in the November 2006 Festival of New Plays and should be willing to commit 20 to 24 hours between October 29 and November 4 for the workshop and the public staged reading. More than twenty roles are up for grabs for the November Festival. Also sought is a blues guitar player. In addition, this is the first open casting call for the 2007 productions of The Berlin Blues and Super Indian. Sixteen to twenty Equity/AFTRA roles along with two understudies will be cast for these productions. Rehearsals for The Berlin Blues are February 6- 28, 2007 with performances Thursdays through Sundays, March 1-25, 2007. Rehearsals for the radio series Super Indian will be April 9- 12, 2007 and performances will be taped with a live audience on April 13 and 14, 2007. All auditioners should bring a photo and résumé. Please prepare a 2- to-3-minute monologue. Actors auditioning for the radio series should be prepared to demonstrate three to four character voices. If you have a voice demo, please bring one. For newer actors, age- appropriate material will be provided at the audition to cold read if so desired.
