have done potatos in it.Never thought about the carrots cause usually I don't keep carrots in the house.I get carrots and son feeds them to the 2 horses people next door own.I guess feeding them my carrots is better than out doing drugs or getting in troulbe.

those kinds of beans are not available in canada. anyways, i prefer beans cooked from scratch. could you list each bean. don'tleave any out. i don't want to mess up the recipe by putting in only 12-13-14 beans.

I haven't seen the bean mix with a seasoning in our markets, but I have spotted a 15 bean mix down by the pinto beans. I was looking for them today. I had the grocery guy locate them for me!

MIB's recipe sounded so good I had to make a pot.
I've been soaking these beans all day. I'm going to cook them in the morning. I thought I'd add a little liquid smoke and a 1/4 clove of garlic. Also, I didn't have time to pick up the fancy meat, so I'm just going to throw in some salt pork. I won't have any deer meat until my other half brings me some of his kill. Hopefully my deviations won't alter this recipe too much.

I was just kidding. The recipe sounds good.

Yep, salt pork is always a good bet. I tryed a new meat soup additive along with the salt pork - chopped up cottage roll. mmmmm- good.

I never thought about cottage roll. I did improvise with spam once. That was a hit. It is probably very similiar, if not derived from the same scraps as cottage roll!!

My goodness. Ironclad stomaches in this cafe! I should send you a cookie basket!
