baking tips

For better tasting cookies and brownies with nuts and to bring out exceptional flavor, roast them in the oven before adding them to your dough. Roasting walnuts before will make them very tender and crisp. It's adds great texture and taste to brownies. Just add a thin coat of olive oil to a cookie sheet; arrange nuts flat; toast in the oven at 350 degrees for up to 5 minutes. The broiler cooks the nuts too well done.

Also, always use real vanilla and double the amount. If your recipie calls for 1 tsp - use two. It will make a difference in flavor. You can also add vanilla to pancake mix or throw it in your french toast batter.
