Wow a whole section on food!
Did find one thing on the internet, a natural sugar subsitiute. It's called Whey low and its made from sugar, lactose and fructose. Reduces your sugar intake and you can't tell it's not sugar. They also have a diabetic version without real sugar. I made a carrot cake, including the cream cheese icing with it. No one knew.

oh yeah. And Splenda (which was my favorite till I found this out) has clorine in it. Thats what they use to bind the sugar molecule. So you're eating clorox, and research is showing effect on your immune system.

Talking Fall Time Ndn Soup

PUMPKIN SHELL SOUP

The Iroquois roasted pumpkins to use in soups, such as this dish from A NATIVE AMERICAN FEAST (Macmillan Publishing Company).

1 medium pumpkin
4 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt

Slice the pumpkin in half and scoop out the seeds. Place the halves, cut-sides down, on a buttered cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour in an oven preheated to 350 degrees. Scoop out the pumpkin flesh and pass it through a sieve. In a heavy saucepan, combine the pumpkin with the remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until warm. Makes 4 to 6 servings.

SUNFLOWER SEED GORP

The Seneca Indians used sunflower seeds to make pudding, gravy, bread and coffee. Mixed with dried fruit, the seeds also make a sweet and nutty snack.

2 cups raw sunflower seeds
1 cup pine nuts
1 cup raw pumpkin seeds
1 cup raisins
1 cup sweetened, dried cranberries

Measure the ingredients into a paper bag, fold over the top of the bag and shake to mix. Store the mixture in an airtight plastic container. Makes 6 cups.

Here's a great salad to make

1-2 head broccoli (florets)
1 cup sunflower seeds (kernels)
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1/2 lb turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled or reg. bacon
1/2 cup golden raisins
1/2 cup chopped red onions
FOR SAUCE
1/2 cup fat-free mayonnaise
1/2 cup fat free sour cream
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons red wine vinegar

use can use full fat mayo & sour cream if you want,
Put all of the ingredients from broccoli to chopped red onions in a bowl and mix them up.
In another bowl mix sauce ingredients.
Pour over vegetable mixture and mix well.
The sugar masks the fact that you are using fat free products.
Enjoy.

Take a little bit a soul
Sweet loves bein told
Say youve got a little make up yeah yeah
Thats what love is made of
Oooo-oooo
Thats what love is made of
Words bein told with a little bit of soul
Pride gets broken
Rude gets spoken
Hearts say goodbye
Eyes have to cry
Hearts on a tree
Walks by the sea
Snakes, snails, puppy dog tails
Sugar, spice, everything nice yeah yeah

Monster Cookies

This makes a huge amount of dough -- I freeze some of it in balls in the freezer until I need cookies for a party or whatever. I used black & orange M&M's in some I made this weekend

MONSTER COOKIES

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup margarine, softened
2 cups white sugar
2 cups packed brown sugar
3 cups peanut butter
6 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons corn syrup 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 teaspoons baking soda
9 cups rolled oats
1/2 pound candy-coated milk
chocolate pieces
1/2 pound semisweet chocolate
chips
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a large bowl, cream together the margarine, white sugar, brown sugar, and peanut butter until smooth. Beat in the eggs, two at a time, then stir in the corn syrup and vanilla. Mix in baking soda and oats until well blended. Stir in the chocolate candies and chocolate chips. Roll dough into 2 inch balls, and place 3 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly with a fork.
3. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool on cookie sheets for a few minutes, before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
