The Eastern Woodlands Tribes were made up of many tribes including the Powhatan, Mohawks, Iroqoius, and the Susquehanna. Powhatan clothing included beaded headbands with feathers in them. Women wore knee-length skirts. Men wore breechcloths with leather pant legs tied on. They did not wear shirts; however, they wore cloaks made of turkey feathers or furs in winter. They wore moccasins on their feet. But as todays Powwow Dancing come into play have we forgotten the old way of putting our regalia together? What are some of the Old ways of Regalia and tell us the new ways. How did we use to dress? I would like to see them come back how about you?
