Thank you. I'm sorry about your mother, she sounds like a kind woman. My father wanted the "white" life. When I became interested in Native culture, he was really hesitant and wouldn't answer me. He told me it was best to leave it. If I wanted to learn, I could do it from a distance. My father was insulted as a redskin growing up. It sucks too because his family never really accepted him. He never felt like he belonged. All of his friends were mixed-bloods who weren't accepted. I don't mention I'm Native when heritage is brought up anymore. I'm deleting my account. I came to learn about a culture that is supposed to promote tolerance and acceptance, but that seems to be the opposite now. On the internet, it seems Native Pride is really dead. I'll take my dad's word and just find out these things for myself. It's hard though, there aren't many books or accurate documents. Most of them only cover basic living like how they hunted, not the individual tribes or their rituals.
