  • Home on the Rez

Hey all, first let me just say that this thread is just a way for me to rant and rave and take out my frustration. See I went home this weekend, and am just getting back, and visited the moms. She still lives on the rez and she refuses to move into town with me and my family. Which I guess is alright, she's an old woman and set in her ways, and she likes where she is, it's been her whole life. Understandable, BUT, and this is a big BUT. I hate the way she is living. She still lives in the house I grew up in and it is falling apart. No matter how many times I go out there and fix it up, it really is nothing more than bandaid medicine, not because I'm halfassin it, but because the house is so old and worn, that's all you can do. The thing that really bites me @$$ is that she has a paycheck, and so does my dad and my brother and his family, which all live there, but do they put in any money to fix it up? No. In fact they don't care. And PLEASE don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm the one putting in the money with no reimbursement, that's not at all the issue, I mean it's just money, and with the way things are today it's little more than colored paper with fancy pictures on it, not worth the paper it's printed on, it's the fact that living this way is acceptable, normal. It's not normal, it's living in a house that should be condemned. No one should have to live like that, especially not an elder who has worked her whole life. She should be retired by now, and enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That didn't help. I think I need to ask the moderators to start a place on the board where I can go and cuss my frustrations out. lol. Anyway thanks for listening to my rants.
