Children and Professional Dance Pt. 2 (The Recital)

This dance recital was the most awesome that they've ever had. The girls looked great and danced even better.

The dance troop did a skit on Tony Orlando and Dawn doing "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" and it was so funny. This short woman played Toni Orlando and two taller women came out as Dawn. The woman playing Toni had a fake moustache on and it was loose and she kept trying to keep it on, half way through the performance, she just ripped it off--we all died laughing.

They did a dance to "We are family" and all these people were coming out with little ones and their family member's who dance with the group. Well then came my two nieces both dressed in black leatards (spelling?) and white skirts and they did a ballet move, held hands and bowed and they left the stage. It was so awesome to see them do that together--I about died. They didn't stay for the rest of that performance 'cause the one had to get ready for her next number, but it was still so very awesome.

There is a young man there that I've known since he was a little guy. His mom is one of the teachers and a dancer for the troop and his grandmother is the secretary and his grandfather and uncle do the sound and lighting for this performance. Well, he's had a crush on my older niece for many many years (the girls have danced for 10 years now) and he wants to dance with her and do a number/skit with her in the worst way. He's a champion dancer and has won dance competitions all over the country and the owner of the studio says that he is way out of her league---which he is. But I sure do love to watch this boy dance, he's awesome. And he is such a sweet young man, really he is. But my niece says that she would never date him, but he sure has had it bad for her for

They did about Three performances together and then they each did one with another group. My older niece does hip hop--actually both of them do--but she was so awesome at it this year. She took it two years ago and we had to pull her out of her shell (me and the secretary at the dance studio) and she took off--it was fantastic.

This years production was called "Dancing thorough the Decades". They did skits and dance routines to songs from the 1940's all the way up to 2000. My nieces were only in a few each, but it was so good to see it all. The babes are so cute. They had a baby hip hop and that was so comical and too cute to see.

Then we were going to go for pizza afterward like we have done for the past 10 years. We always went to Pizza Hut and they close about 11pm and only do pick up after that and we were there early enough that we were usually the last ones accepted in and the only ones in the place.LOL Well last year it ended at 10:30pm and we were given a hard time for the first time ever, so this year when it ended it was 5 min 'til 11 so we decided to go to another place for pizza and this one was near my

This was a great night all the way around and it will be one that we will all remember for many years to come.
