Wishes from the Contemporary by Paul Gowder, on Flickr

This is my most recent post on Flickr. It was shot from our balcony of the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. It was a long exposure of the Wishes Fireworks show. 16 seconds!

I'll post one more just to try and get this thread going.

Twirling by Paul Gowder, on Flickr

This started as a photo of a group of about 15 kids at a swimming birthday party. A friend on Flickr posted instructions for this.

It's actually pretty quick and easy to do in Photoshop.

1. Import an image into Photoshop or Photoshop Elements

2. Go to Filter>Pixelate>Mezzotint: Short Lines

3. Go to Filter>Blur>Radial Blur: 100%, Zoom, and Best.

4. Hit Ctrl or Command+F to duplicate the filter (VERY IMPORTANT STEP)

5. Duplicate the layer

6. Go to Filter>Distort>Twirl: 75 or -75 (top layer only) Changing this number makes some incredible twirls.

7. Go to Filter>Distort>Twirl: Opposite of step 6 (bottom Layer)

8. Set the top layer's blending mode to "Lighten"

I have an arts and humanities project due in three days and I had to go to the cities art museum today take a pic of a peice of art and do a short power point presentation on the peice. This one is called. "Will you follow your heart or your head" I choose it because I understood it.

BY the way that is a depiction of the heart inside the head.

That is really cool! Think I will poke around my photo editor and see if I can find a way to do that.

I've never tried to add a photo here, so here goes nothing.
We have these wildflowers that come up every fall and they always attract Viceroy Butterflies. I tried to get more than 1 butterfly in each shot, but realized when I was cropping these, that didn't quite work out. :)
