I find that difficult to believe and would warn that I believe you are being mis-informed ! You are trying to attain something that is not possible.
I believe blood quantums are the governments way to breed us out of existance !

They say blood is thicker than water ! Now maple syrup is thicker than blood , so are pancakes more important than family ?

There are "Elders" and there are "Olders". Being the second one doesn't make the first one true !

Somebody is out there somewhere, thinking of you and the impact you made in their life.
It's not me....I think you're an idiot !

Did you perhaps ask her what her spirit might have been in an earlier life.

Did it ever cross your mind she used her Inca medicone powers to see you before you walked in the door.

Not all medicine people use their powers for the good of mankind. I'm thinking she just told you what you wanted to
hear. A real medicine person would have told you how you got your name, where you lived and how you died.

Sid she tell you those things??? Doesn't sound like she did or you wouldn't be here asking foolish (yes...I said foolish) questions that can never be answered.

Why must I feel like that..why must I chase the cat?

Bottom line is you are non-Indian, putting on make shift indian regalia will not make you indian, it will make you a non-indian wearing a make shift indian regalia. You are not indian, you were born non-indian, that is what the creator made you - embrace it.

I'm not trying to be mean, I am just being blunt because people such as your self tend to discount others view when it doesn't align with your views. If you are hell bent on proceeding with a romanticized fantasy of being an indian, then maybe go to Germany and you all can play Indians together.

I am NOT judging you - I am telling you like it is! Just my two cents!
Wow! Now I'm not gonna respect you in the morning.

Good words, lbgooder

Here is a very fundamental difference in worldview between European and American cultures and most of our cultures.

My people place great emphasis on children learning proper kinship behavior. Every level of consanguineal (blood), affinal (marriage) and ficitive (social) kinship binds one into a web of mutual support and obligations. You are to a great extent bounded by your relationship to those around you.

If these ties do not exist, you are not part of our nation. This is not a judgement; it is fact. No level of imagined rapport will make up for these ties. They are at the heart of our social structure and cohesion as a People.

Yes, like all groups we choose to enfold outsiders in the bonds of affinal and fictive kinship. But there is a key point in the prior sentence: "we choose." One of the fundamental activities of any group is determining who is a member. When outsiders declare themselves part of us by virtue of a "Red Heart", "Indian Spirit" or whatever metaphor they use, they are attacking our sovereignty. It is the equivalent of me getting off the plane at Arlanda, going to the nearest family get together, declaring myself a long-lost cousin, eating all the kroppkakor, and voting in the local election.

A piece of advice:

My people have stories about a Spirit that violates our culture's most fundamental and strict rules, and delights in tricking others into behaving in deviant ways, much to their woe. He does things like tricking mothers into eating a stew made from their babies. He lies and tells people what they want to hear to make fools or worse of them. His associates occasionally appear at ceremony and grants people the literal interpretation of their wishes, sometimes to their great regret.

LikeJoe's Dad's says: Beware those that tell you exactly what you want to hear. They may be trying to trick you into eating your children.

Hello everyone. I have been reading numerous things on the boards the past few days. I am hoping that I don't generate negative response or opinion. I am 24 years old. Growing up, I was always told by my grandmother (who died when I was 15) about our Native American ancestors. I'm not coming here like...

Hello everyone:

I wonder if anyone can help me?

I do not know if it was true or not, but a few years ago I developed a strong friendship with a VA vet who sadly died from long term affects of the chemical warfare.

During our friendship she told me that I...

Have you ever felt the willies from a certain point in your house?

I used to live in this three bedroom house with a big basement, and every night at about three or four o'clock I would always get the willies a big chill down my neck and back, but I never really seen anything but shadows....

Just found out this is what has been making me feel like ka-ka the whole time.

Got me started on "Synthroid" 75mcg. Not sure what to expect but I am hoping to feel better.

Thank my lucky stars the DR here knew what test to ask for, and that I have all of this...
