Kiowa/Comanche soldier killed in Iraq laid to rest
    Tuesday, November 29, 2005

Joshua J. Ware, a 20-year-old Kiowa/Comanche man from Oklahoma who was killed in Iraq, was buried on Saturday.

Ware was a corporal for the U.S. Marines. He was killed in a November 16 ambush in Ubaydi, Iraq, along with three other Marines.

Ware was said to be the first Kiowa or Comanche to die in combat since the Vietnam War.

My heart and prayers go out to the family of this brave warrior fighting for our country. No amount of thanks can express the gratitude of not one but grateful nations, The Comanche, Kiowa and United States all and one. Not only has our country lost one of our finest but our tribe has too. Prayers that The Great Spirit may welcome our brother Joshua with open arms.
