  • Mr. Pete, "Spotted Turtle", Lumbee Elder has crossed over

It is with great sadness that I post this information.

Mr. Pete Clark, known as "Spotted Turtle", father to Ray Little Turtle, known as MC for many years, crossed over last evening around 11ish.

His setting up/wake will be on Thursday evening at Juddy's in Pembroke, NC from 7-9 PM. His funeral will be at Berea Baptish Church on Friday at 2. A gravesite blessing will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions /monies be donated to the Pembroke Boys and Girls Club along with the Elders Circle.

I just got back from my friend's house, and will post more information as I recieve it.

In deepest respect - Kay Oxendine

Spotted Turtle was a very special man in so many ways. He named all of the children in our family. He was one of my first teachers. He will greatly missed by all of our family.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I'm sorry to hear this. I enjoyed sitting down with Mr. Pete. Always mellow, with just a little grin going on. Somewhere else is better off...now that they have Mr. Pete.

My condolences to Ray, Cochise, Tony and family.

Why must I feel like that..why must I chase the cat?

In great sadness I learned the Rev. Campbell crossed over last night. He was most known for his exquisite jewelry making on the Trail.

At 10:30 PM, January 13, 2006 Rev. Campbell passed at the hospital.

He has only been "sick" for a few weeks - this was a rapid...

Hello everyone. I just wanted to let you know that my adopted dad, Orval Kirk, has lost his battle with cancer. I received a phone call this morning and was told that he passed from this life at about 4:00AM. My husband and I were with the family until midnight last night, at the hospital.
