UNCLE TIGER'S FUNERAL WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY AT THE VETERENS MEMORIAL IN LEECH LAKE. THIS IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE POWWOW GROUNDS
IT STILL DOES NOT SEEM REAL, HOW CAN THIS MAN THAT WAS SO STRONG IN HEART AND SOUL BE GONE FROM OUR LIVES.
HE HELD FAST TO HIS TRADITIONS AND HONORED HIS ANCESTORS BY TEACHING US WHAT HE HAD BEEN TAUGHT

Merval Jones Aka Tiger Jones
Tiger Jones Died Feb 21st In His Home In His Bed With His Family. He Was A Good Man Who Loved His Family And His People. Everytime We Talked I Would Learn Something, He Was A Teacher A Student And A Friend, He Was My Uncle, And I Thought Of Him As My Dad. Last Week We Had A Really Great Conversation About What We Meant To Eachother, And I Told Him That He Was The Only Dad I Had Now. I Went Up North That Night And Got To See Him I Got To Hug Him, Kiss Him, And Tell Him I Loved Him. We Had A Fun Night At The House All Of Us Together. He Loved Like He Lived. People Loved Him Because He Was Real, And He Knew What The Heck He Was Talking About. We Had Plans For The End Of The Month, A Big Family Shindig And He Was Already Talking Bout What He Was Going To Chef Up For When My Man Meets The Family. I Love You Tiger. This Man Would Do Anything For You That He Coulld, A Real Indian Who Would Give You His Last Piece Of Bread And The Last Dry Shirt. If You Were Stuck He Would Find A Way To Help You. Him And My Aunty Rose Ran Thier House Like A Half Way House And A Safe Home, Always Full Of Love And Life And Drama. He Lived Proudly And Died Gently. His Funeral Will Be In Leech Lake, Do Not Know When Yet. I Will Post That Just Incase Someone Knows This Great Man, He Was Well Known In Indian Country Out Here. I Just Feel Like I Am Not Doing This Man Justice And I Cannot See The Screen Anymore Please Send Your Prayers Out To My Aunty Rose Bugg And Thier Kids Lucy And Merval Jones. I Cannot Believe I Wont See His Old Mug Next Week, And I Will Never Hear Him Say Again... Boozhoo Mush
I Love You Uncle You Taught Me A Lot And I Will Carry That With Me Always And Teach This To Mine.Tags: None
