  • Kenny Merrick Sr. Passes

Around 2:30pm this afternoon (August 30, 03), Kenny Merrick Sr. passed.

To all that knew Kenny Sr. and Mystic River, we all referred to him as Dad and that he was and not only to us but to many many other ppl that he's touched.

To all that did not know Kenny Sr. he was a well known songwriter and emcee in the PowWow world.

My condolences and prayers go out to the Merrick family and to all that was close to him.

Even though he had no feelings in his legs we know now that he is dancing with the Creator.

    Rest in peace.

We were in Dunseith, ND at the Labor Day pow-wow when we heard about Kenny. On Sunday they did a blanket dance for the family! From what the announcers said is that the money will be taken to United Tribes pow-wow..........

              Rest In Peace uncle..........:Angel2

Though I never met Kenny Sr, I knew he was well respected among a lot of people. At Schemitzin 2003, a special song was done for kenny Sr. that was when I heard he was ill. My condolences to his family and to the members of Mystic Rivers and to all those who had the chance to meet Kenny Sr.

I would like to send my prayers and best wishes to the Merrick family and all of his powwow family. This is truly a great loss for the powwow community. Mystic River, keep on the good singer as if Kenny is still there because even though he isn't there sitting besides you guys....he is still there with you in your hearts and your souls. He will truly be missed.
