I'm at home with my 5 kids, homeschooling, living with extended family in off rez NDN housing, sending the kids to all NDN after school programing and sports, teaching the kids how we are niether cadadian or american cause we got our own sovriegn Nations, raising them to know to traditional skills, doing the powwow thing, going to ceremonies and the best you can give this girl who choose beauty school over a scholarship to the university of alberta for geology is "wow"...I was expecting more feel like replying now?

To what?

By remarking that such kids will (typically) have no marketable skills except in an insular society that has illusionary, masturbatory, fantasies about being a truly sovereign nation? That attending pan-indian dances while pretending that they mean something is grotesque? And, postulating like this is a GOOD thing -- because tradition is treated as religion and there is a latent fear of growth and change -- is truly SAD?

What's the point? Why should I say anything that you already know, whether you can face it or not?

thanks, my blood is pumpin again...oh did I forget to mention that their education is actually very well rounded cause I loved school, teach em all kinds of things they were not learning as well as the basics minUs the thanksgiving tales? But ignore this and keep on going.

Zeke - Here is some more truth :

The problem is simple ... we came from nations that gave us figures like Tecumseh and Membertou... they came from nations that... well... you get the idea.
I mean... bad choices 150 years ago.. bad choices in the present day.. I almost wonder if making poor choices IS their culture.

Then... like some immature teenager, they blame everyone else for their own piss-poor choices (read: failures).
