  • "Grocery list story"

This will be a fun thing we all can get involved in. We post an item that might be found on a make believe grocery list someone has dropped in a grocery. (could be a super wally world *lol* ) Anyway, if you have ever seen a list they have some odd or totally unrelated items like jar of olives, quart of oil, denture cleaner etc.
Like what we do is come up with a list then write a story using the items from that list. It will be fun to see how different each of our stories are using the same items.
I know there's a lot of writers on this board. Any one up for a challenge?

That's cool .........someone is eager to start writing! (you forgot air freshener) It's cool how you did that with the convention. I wouldn't have thought of that.

I thought we were just getting the list together for now. How many items are we doing?

It was a dark and stormy night. I went to the cupboard to grab a can of soup, and realized that I had bought dog food by mistake. It was just about all I had, so I fried it up. I had to disguise the odor of it frying with nearly a whole can of air freshener. I found a bag of marshmallows on top of the refrigerator, next to an unopened package of windshield wiper blades. I don't have a fireplace, so I roasted those puppies over the blazing hot light bulb of my torchiere lamp. That was a dinner to remember!

                      grocery list game

After changing the "windshield wiper blades" on my car, it started to rain. Running inside the house, I
noticed a strange odor, whatever it was smelled horrible. I got out a can of "air freshener" and started
                      spraying the whole house.
In my attempt to rid the house of the odor, I accidently sprayed the lamp and shorted out the "light bulb". While tossing the bulb away, the dogs jumped on me, pushing me against a large bag of "dog food", that they had gotten into, causing the odor in the house.
It just wasn't my day, so after feeding the dogs and putting them in the garage, I helped myself to a cup of hot chocolate with a big helping of "marshmallows".

This is so cool. You all are doin great with the 5 items on the list. Maybe next list we can try 7 or 10.

We were camping at the first powwow of the year. I was excited to be there. So many campers it seemed like one big happy family talking and sharing. If one person would be out of coffee they could go ask someone and get it. Well our "neighbor" was frantic because she forgot to bring "dog food" for her little pooch and asked me if I possibly had any. I told her no but gave her some "marshmallows" and told her she could try those. How was I to know they would give the pooch gas? I apologized and told her I had some "air freshner" in the tent she could have. She thanked me and invited us to the camp pitch in feed. Told us to bring whatever could be thrown in the pot. We ended up taking some potatoes and carrots that we had brought.

Everyone was there and pitched in. It was great. Only thing that anyone forgot was to bring something to stir the pitch in stew with. We searched high and low and could find nothing. Then I had a "lightbulb" moment and went to my car. I took off the "windshield wiper blades" and everyone shouted for joy that we had something to stir our wonderful stew. We used one for stirring and the other one for roasting hotdogs over the fire. It was a wonderful night for all!
