  • Bleeding Kansas

    A long, dry, windy place

Years gone by without a trace

The grass is tall, the wind is strong

The winter months are very long

The buffalo were so thick and dark

Until bullets slammed into their hearts

Left to rot without skin or tongue

So the people could not feed their young

When the people saw this gruesome sight

Their very hearts filled up with fright

For soon, they knew soldiers would come

And in their task they would succeed

To drive the people from their land

So they could plow, and plant their seed

Bleeding Kansas has seen it all

The long, thin, the short and tall

She cried when her people died

    Only for an arrogant pride
