Living above a bar give one a unique perspective at age 7
There were many many steps leading to our small apartment
I believe my adopted mother's family didn't approve and dreaded dropping me off on Sundays
To me it was just our pad
But to their refined sensibilities being seen leaving or entering the parking lot of such an establishment was big taboo
I felt their trepidation and laughed internally
all those patrons were old timers and neighborhood people there for a brandy old fashioned or a quarter tapper of Pabst Blue Ribbon
One day my cat Squeaky chased down a hornet in the back yard and started scarfin it up
He spit it out and made a hiss and ran off
I guess your prey fights you all the way down sometimes...
