I just wanted to post to you and let you know that your poem is very moving. As a person who has been on the receiving end of abuse and recovered from it's affects I just wanted you to know I appreciate your words. It has taken a long time to undo what had been done to me, and there are things I still work on, but I have been married happily for 6 years now.
Don't give up on your love.
Perhaps you can keep in touch as friends? I don't know the situation, it's just a thought.

This article appeared in on CNN.com this morning, and because both my children have stepmothers, I hear their struggles when they come home.
