    Eye Belong 2oo You

Though your tears may flow like rain
    I am your people

As your swords turn my spear
    I am your people

    Souls tear by your hand
    I am your people

The red earth under my feet feels your touch intimately
    I am your people

    Remember our journey through aeons
    I am your people

Of blue mountains' sapphire we walked hand in hand
    I am your people

Yours never left mine nor did we
    I am your people

Your eyes belong to me and mine to you
    I am your people

Sailed with the people of the stars through the long night
    I am your people

    Beloved now and again before
    I am your people

    We belong to each other
    I am your people

This piece is dedicated to my daughter Maileena Sage Smith

Make your daughters see the wisdom of dating/marrying DORKS not thugs. The most dangerous thing about Dorks is they just might kick too many people's tails on a video game or play GI Joe or Transformers with their kids. Or worse yet know way way too much about dinosaurs...

      Happened

I was at my Uncle Mike's in Oneida when the muse came a callin. I had been watching way too much HERO. If you haven't seen this work of film genius then please do yourself a favor and experience it for yourself. It is a freakin masterpiece. It's more visual philosophy than anything.

For those of you who have:

All the color took me, the whir of the leaves, drops of water, the serenity of the chess house. Moreover it was the empathy I felt for the land itself and her chosen. The deep connectedness the characters have with the whole universe on seemingly an even molecular level was gripping.

My awareness about myself and our culture's shared memories of those times infused me with the need to attempt to express what I was feeling at that time. There is no boundary on the imagination nor our dreaming body. We really are our soul.

I immediately felt connected to those philosophical pathways on a very intimate level. Perhaps one could say, I "understood them". In turn I became quite happy to say the least.

Plus there is concrete evidence that we traded with people's from Asia for many years. I"m not going into migration land bridge stuff here, OK.

Essentially I underwent a psychoactive experience by witnessing a kung-fu movie. To put it completely arbitrary.

I became that much more enlightened that morning. It's just a really heavy duty awakening. In celebration of that experience, I thought to share it with all of you. Who better to see it first, but my peers on here.

I just feel that OUR OWN Hero's acted just as superhuman and human as the one's portrayed in that film (which is sooo much more). The aspects of Love, Honor, Loyalty to one's Land, Family, People. Not to mention spiritual endeavors, though not touched on in this film in the way Western film goers would recognize. But practically every aspect of this film was done in a sacred way. Ritual, Color, Repeated Symbols, Elements, Sound, Events, Behaviors, Lessens Learned, Self Sacrifice, Music, Silence, Art, Culture.

All of these are replete throughout our people's culture. And that is what I wanted to say as well. The link I'm speaking of isn't tangible at glance. But is it is one of even greater import. It is one of common held belief and tradition. The more I research and grow and learn about Buddhism leads me to believe that really we are no different than they are.

I'm Buddhist by the way boys and girls. But I didn't become some recent New Age convert; because I picked up a few Thich Na Kahn books in Barne's & Noble. I was born Buddhist.
