Would have to agree with you on the thing and I also did like blade runne. What about soilent green? Btw ndnsoldierboyi like your quote about Indian Jones and Marion. I definitely need to remember that one when people start quoting Indian Jones to me lol

Babylon 5 totally ROCKS! I have almost all of them on VHS and watched them multiple times. I think one of my favorite characters is Zathras.
My favorite Zathras quote is something like this: "Zathras used to being burden to other people's problems. It is a very sad life. Will probably be a very sad death. But at least there is symmetry."
I also liked Earth 2.
Anyone remember that?
Star Trek and Star Wars, well those are at the top of the list, sorta by default.
I was really impressed with the new 2009 Trek movie. Just a few complaints... #1) they did a terrible job casting Scotty
#2) there was no plot point to the love interest between Spock and Uhura
#3) the villain was also horribly cast, he was boring, not scary at all, and seemed like he was just reading lines, no venomous emotion, very amateur.
I also LOVED the Michael Jackson "Captain Eo" movie at Disneyland. Did anyone else notice that Star Trek TNG ripped off the Borg from there???

Indy...another fave was when he said, "Trust me" in the bar scene...
Soilent Green goes back...way back. Will have to watch that one again. Its been so long I can't remember it anymore and Blade Runner..another one I will have to watch again. Harrison Ford really took a left turn on that choice of movie.
I remember when my mom was alive...she really liked watching Babylon 5. I don't know what it was about the show, but she enjoyed watching that one. I watched a few shows but couldn't get into it.

would you just step back and take in all the nerdery, it's beautiful!!!
Hey anyone see the movie Priest yet?
Man I just downloaded it like 3 weeks or so ago. Wow, pretty dang awesome. Not trying too hard and the baddies in it weren't pretty whiney attractive sexy things either. I hate those kind.
Very dark and so in tune with what the Warhammer 40K universe looks like in my imagination. Not to mention the church in 40K friggin nailed it! But really especially to any sci-fi fan worth their dork badge should at least see this film. Bonus points for liking it I guess.
Make your daughters see the wisdom of dating/marrying DORKS not thugs. The most dangerous thing about Dorks is they just might kick too many people's tails on a video game or play GI Joe or Transformers with their kids. Or worse yet know way way too much about dinosaurs...
Not sure if there is enough room to mention my faves, but here's a few: All the Aliens, All the Predators, Last Starfighter, Enemy Mine, Pitch Black, X-Men and follow ups, all of them, Leviathan, and my favorite B rated's Attack of the killer tomatoes and Killer Klowns from outer space...LOL....
Haven't seen Priest yet, but i'll look into this weekend....
I will be a good girl , I will be a good girl, I will be a good girl......awe hell, we know this ain't gonna happen....

Northof Ada, you are right, Star Wars ressurected and set the standard for the SciFi industry. Not only that but several movies used Industrial Light and Magic, their techniques were used up until the point of CGI. Dumbest movie I ever paid to see but laughed it off later. Well, it kinda borders more on fantasy than sci-fi, and the movie was based on a cult classic that I cannot remember the name of offhand, but it would be Army of Darkness. It was corny, had really bad acting and more crappy one liners than a Mel Brooks flick. But some of it was hilarious, and for some reason its like a bad penny, and sticks in my mind.
