Just found out this is what has been making me feel like ka-ka the whole time.

Got me started on "Synthroid" 75mcg. Not sure what to expect but I am hoping to feel better.

Thank my lucky stars the DR here knew what test to ask for, and that I have all of this "covered"

Does anyone here have any links that they would like to share, or if you feel like it, please pm me.

    Now onto something funny...

I asked the Dr "is this heretic" LMAO

He says "Genetic" yes, it can be!

Jesus Mary and Joseph that is not the first time I had a slip of the lips like that

Thanks for any and all responses

My younger sister has had this for years and it is one major reason the USMC let her retire after 15 years of service. Its important you take your meds as directed and make sure you either stop drinking or don't start drinking with these meds. From observation of my sister, her alcohol use has made it difficult for her to maintain her thyroid correctly.

I have not touched a drop in almost 8 years, and I don't plan on starting any time soon either. Thanks for the heads up!

        A Lil Update

I am not quite up to snuff, but the Synthroid seems to be working. I called my mom and she stated she is on the EXACT same thing, but a higher dosage, she also said be prepared for them to up it, until I find a dosage that works properly.

That means going in for blood tests and checking the TH levels, every month or so.

Not sure if this is of any interest to anyone, but I thought I would let yall know

One good thing, I have seen a really good DECREASE in the amount of sweating, I still get really bad on occasion so I am going to keep an eye on this and see what happens.

        Thanks for letting me ramble

I don't know much about this, but my Mom has taken that synthroid for quite a few years now, and she says it really has helped. It took them a little while and some tinkering to get the dosage right, and she still has to have blood tests done once in a while, but I gather it's really worthwhile to follow through like that. I've also heard the bit about it being genetic. Since my Mom has that condition, I have to have tests done periodically too. Yuck! But, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
I hope they get your medication situation worked out and that you're feeling goot real soon -
