  • Herbal Medicine vs. Chemical

Curious George wants to know, how many of you use traditional medicines versus going to the doctor and popping whatever pill they give you.

I've never taken an antibotic and refuse too. Plus, the only medicine that I take is my B.C. pill. Otherwise I rely on plants and herbs. Now, if I got really really sick and needed "Western" medical care, then yes I go, but I will avoid it.

    So, what's your story?

    :D

First of all, stop frontin', you don't take BC pills cuz you don't get no action

I don't like to rely on Western medicines. But then again, I have never been seriously sick. Just the occassional cold or flu, and I just sweat those out.

As for birth control, nothing works better than jumping up and down while drinking a can of Coke:p

OK, you're right. I don't get any action except from... I better not say. So, I guess I don't need to pop any pills. :p

Thanks for the tip on the jumping up and down while drinking a can of coke. I'll have to try that next time I get any action--about ten years from now I suppose. I better write this down so I don't forget it.

I go to mushroom mountain, but nothing compares to them blue and yellow and purple hills. That's whats up! :D

The only time I go to the hospital is when I'm visiting somebody. But then again I don't get sick, except for an occasional cold.

Nearly 15yrs ago I was diagnosed with Lupus. The Doctors immediately put me on the usual meds for it. In no time I was on Death's door....literally. We didn't think I was gonna make it. I sent my kids back to my ex, their father. I tied up all the legal ends and was ready to go. Then one day I woke up and said "Hey, I'm NOT ready to go." I did some serious research on traditional/natural medicine, dumped all the meds from the Doctors down the toilet. In no time I became the poster child of good health. I stayed like that for about 10yrs. Then like an idiot, last year I went to a Doctor and took some meds he gave me. Within 2wks I was in the hospital and nearly died from a Lupus episode. I was in and out of the hospital for 7 months. Once again I dumped their meds and reset my focus and am doing great now.

Bottom line, I have total trust in traditional/natural medicines. Even my dogs have a vet that practices natural medicine. Our Creator put the herbs, roots, etc...here for us to use. Those things were made for us! All that synthetic crap is, IMHO, why so many people are sick, have cancer, etc... We have so screwed up our own natural immune systems will that stuff.

                  :36:

                  Ok. I'm finished. :p

I myself am a firm believer in herbal and natural remedies anything from Chamomile to hibicius flowers, ginseng, milk thistle, kudzu, bitter root, echinacea, local honey for allergies, Chilis, garlic, and of course nothing tastes better than a good cup of strong french roast coffee(which is also a mild duiretic) and helps in the recovery of colds and flus!!! Docka.......

I guess I'll reinforce my previous statement by telling you a little story. Earlier this year I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, they had put me on that glucophage pill to control my blood sugar levels. Anyways, it made my stomach hella sick it took me a while to get used to it but it left a funny taste in my mouth constantly. So, I did this for a few months and ended up going back home for sundance to support a friend of mine anyways, I did some praying and ate different up there cuz there aint no Mc Donalds, or a BK on the rez so I was designated to cook and we ate wild rice from Canada I think? (silly people) AYE I JOKE!!! CANADA!! and deer meat and let me see oh yeah, Buffalo, wild turnips, well anyways you get the point we were eatin NDN way! But where I was gettin at is when I tested my glucose levels they were outstanding!!! Instead of bieng at like a 240-260 range I was way down to like 110 or so they had this all natural maple syrup that we put on our pancakes and my sugars were still fine I felt more energetic and you name it and Ive been the same ever since cuz I continue to eat wild and natural foods we always have deer meat or quail in the freezer. I prefer doing this the natural way as oppose to taking that GOD AWFUL PILL!!!
                      Western Medicine Sucks!! Dokca......:
                      :Chatter ;)

Ive put together 26 broken bones on myself. fixed cuts and torn flesh using natural medicine. Use natural antibiotics I get from the woods and use natural remedies for other ailments I get from the woods. Only when I cant get to the woods do I use western medicine. However never used western antibiotics or painkillers except percocet once when i got my wisdom teeth pulled.

Hi, I wasn't sure where to put this but I was just wondering about how Indians hunt. Not what they hunt or what tools, but if there is any ethics involved. I would assume so, since I've always thought Indians (American Indians?) were very good about things like that, respect for the earth etc. (Perhaps...

I got laid off today, which really sucks, but at the same time it's kind of a mixed blessing. I have been wanting to work part-time and spend more time with my daughter. And this way I'll have more time to work on the house (we're remodeling) and start a garden in the spring and maybe make time for...

I've been Fancy dancing now and then for a number of years. How do you get into competition? Do you have to be sponsored by a certain natinve group? Since I don't copy other dancers, (I don't even watch them when I dance,) how can I know that I am good enough to compete, or if I'm even dancing the right...
