      ...that's crazy, how can you trademark something that refers to heritage? I hope that they get turned down on this or that somebody objects?

        Boozhoo niji,

        Anything can be tradmarked, a signiture, a word or group of words, even a color, all can be trademarked. You know the color of Coke cans, well that is trademarked. And that Nike swoosh... that is trademarked. And now the phrase, "Proud to be Indian" is trademarked. That means you cannot use if for personal gain or even not for profit status. Now if you change the wording around... "Proud to be NDN" that is not trademarked, unless someone else did. Its all about money.
