I have read all these posts and there are many issues stiring around:

1) The Freedman issue: No opionion

2) The Consistution of 1999 and 2003: Same as the 1975

3) Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma: Listed on my CDIB

4) United Keetoowah Band: Grandparents both listed

5) Chad Smith: No opionion

Have I missed any?

And yet we are still fighting amongst ourselfs
I remember a time when the Blood law was trying to be enacted against WW Keeler for selling us down the river and nothing has changed in all those years....

Fony as the other 240 or so wannabee groups, the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma made noises like they might do something about it, but they backed off, they sent THIS LETTER to the State of Tenneesee about their policy of recognizing these fony groups, (scroll down to page 14 to see the list of fonies) but because they are just as BOGUS, they don't dare chance the fact Tenneesee might challenge their right to even be babbling about wannabees when they are no better.

The petition to Stop a Dictater in the Center of America, is not just for Cherokee, it is going to the US congress, and the actions by Congress will have an effect on all of Indian Country if anyone is unhappy with a dictatorial type of tribal leadership such as we have, and I know there are many others, with whom the federal government needs to do their duty to the Indian community...

We have Creek, Choctaw, Chickasaw signers, and white folk taxpayers , because the dictator waste tax money money, and one I noticed yesterday from the Citizen Potawatomi tribe and a poster on Indianz.com (Johnnie Flynn) a very active citizen of that Nation against a tyrant quite like our Smith, that signed with a comment he said:

Not only should you shut down the Cherokee Nation, take it off the government dole, but also the Citizen Potawatomi Nation who is using its federal funds to persecute elders, arrest political opponents, and destroy families. If this were happening in any other country, foreign aid would be shut off. But it is allowed to go on unchecked all over Indian Country.

There are Chickasaw Freedmen who are just as unhappy with that government as all freedmen of all the tribes are.

My CDIB does not mention CNO... If that is what you mean, then you have an old card pre-chad it tells you you are a member of the 3rd class indian club the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, chad has tried to change that but it aint happened yet legally.

Don't the Delawares have a say in their own self determination? How is it "fine" when the Delaware are made Cherokees against their own wishes?

The United States government is NOT interfering in the membership decisions of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. The U.S. government is exercising its own sovereign perogative to NOT expend funds on a rogue government bent on destroying the lives of its citizens. Chad Smith and the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma have now joined the ranks of governments who commit genocide against their own citizens such as Sudan, Serbia, Russia, Uganda and South Africa. Every taxpayer in this country wants to believe that their tax dollars are going to help people rather than hurt them. The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma can do as it pleases with its citizens, oust the freedmen, enslave the Delawares, crush the Keetoowahs. Its all about sovereignty. But as a sovereign, there is a price to be paid in the real world for such behaviors. The government to government relationship between the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and the United States is one of mutual respect and recognition. The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma has done something the United States cannot respect or support. There is no way for the U.S. to invade the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and use force to protect the rights of tribal minorities. The first and in this case only avenue for one sovereign to pressure another sovereign to treat its citizens right is the power of the purse. Chad Smith and the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma have stepped into the arena of the big dogs. The U.S. Congress is reacting to their actions like a big dog. If Chad Smith and the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma can't run with the big dogs, they shouldn't have gotten off the porch.

Simpleton words of a fool, that babbles with out learning a little of which they babble, let me ask Do you believe in obeying law? or is it Ok to violate if one thinks one can get away with it?

The words of the 1866 Treaty of the Cherokee are quite clear, as is the 13th ammendment to the US Constitution. If you are not going to bother with learning a little truth about law, and its application to the issue on which you babble, at least read watson's Bill with concern of Law an violation! this applies to the hand clapper agreeing with your pure BS as well!

I really don't see how this legislation would even pass b/c the Cherokee Nation donates sooooo much money to the state for so many different things and they have so much revenue. It was being the dumbest thing to do to cut their federal funding. Somebody would probably get shot before that happened. If you want to get political about it. *L*
