Im so sorry if thats happenning to your body...a good preventative and these days, for survival,,,its good to break fast with 4 oz. of wheatgrass and a 16 0z. cup of carrot beet juiice...if your iron is low, beat juice will raise it fasrter than anything.. wheatgrass ids like drinking a few pounds of raw vegis....and of course pure water...then you have to wait a few hours...then eayt some beans, rice and chapatis{frybread thats not fried.}(split moong beans are the most digestible, high protein bean{for those with cancer}my fav. is lentils....those are like frybread without grease...thats a lot of a complete protein diet. fruits need to be eaten by themselves..no white flour, and no white sugar...and some ginger root ,and cilantro with your meals, and yogurt...thats all I can think of and ive been studying health my whole life.If native american indians insist that threy must eat fish...they should move to Alaska,,,soon they wont be able to eat the fish in Alaska...sounds like maybe you have a huge amount of mercury in your system.the native american indians are expert cooks so they know what spices are healing .

    Good articles, Josiah!

Fills in some blanks for me - like where cracking and boiling the bones for soup or stew stock came from (and why people look at me weird when I write out an asked for recipe for the soup or stew they just ate and they come to the "take 3 or 4 large [whatever meat] bones, crack them open and throw them in the stock"), the saving of all sorts of fats, mixing meat and fruit (especially berries) together, liking to eat various organ meats, why I had to eat so blinking much fish when I was a kid and the weird bias I have about not drinking plain water (makes me choke) - there has to be something in there, even if it's just a handful of sumac berries and a small touch of maple syrup.

The part that made me chuckle was this one:

<quote>So the formula for good health in the modern age begins with the products of "a fine dairy herd"—whole, raw, unprocessed milk from cows that eat green grass, a highly nutritious substitute for guts and grease and one that every child can enjoy, even native American children who are supposedly lactose intolerant. </quote>

I -am- a lactose intolerant *adult*. I wasn't as a child. Didn't start for me until age 25 or so. Milk (and later many milk products) now does evil things in my digestive system UNLESS it's had the lactose more fully broken down by bacteria like yogurt (the real kind not the "kind of looks like/smells like/tastes like" chemical brew that some brands are), hard/sharp cheeses or milk that has been scalded long enough. Speaking of which I tried a Salvadoran cultured sour cream this past weekend that seems to be safe (at least in small quantities).

Exercise has been my 5 year problem - being on wheels has definitely limited what I can do. I'm getting better about skipping the "civilized food" and eating more like how my grandparents did when we all lived together. Some things I can't get - real ojib wild rice or I can't get to - like cattail pollen, flowers and roots.

I will say that up until 5 years ago I was only about 10 lbs heavier than I was in high school. But that was from exercise more than from eating or not eating certain things. I walked -every where-, walking was something I did for the pleasure of it. At one point my wife calculated that walking the dog twice a day added up to at least 10 miles.

Now is not so good. Uncle "Arthy" has ground up my knees and he's working on my hands, neck and right shoulder and I don't know which one he'll finish with first.

Not that any of that is relevant to the conversation... which reminds me.. if you want to talk about that, it's another topic, go start it somewhere else please... preferably another .com but if you REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLy think people here are interested then chit chat might be the area for it. It almost seems like you are getting the indigenous people of the americas confused with those in India from time to time as well..... you sure you know where you are posting?

Today's market corn has been hybrid to death for size, color and sweetness. Most of the corn eating native nations treated their corn and turned it into hominy which also changes the composition of the corn. The traditional old strain of corn which the Iroquois still grow (Tuscarora white flour being one of them) is small, white and when lye treated has great concentrations of calcium and becomes less a carb. Speaking of which can I ask for my $3.00 back that Hare Krishna hounded me for while stuck in Denver Airport? With interest for 30 years it should be $20 bucks now.
    Bravo!!

if i give you the three dollars back, you might buy meat with it...that would be doing you a great diservice.,and i would also get bad karma//when a person gives the Hare Krishnas money it clesanstheir heartfromso much dirt fromso many lifetimes.I know about the ceremonies. My friend,Krishna Dasa, his father was amedicine chief in South Dakota...I know about all the austerities and the piercings, the voluntary pain forgain...were on the same side...Krishna dasas Father performed a Native American Ceremony before the Deities were installed here,in New Dwarka....Our children have a very elevated birth,as do the pure native american indians.imjust older and more informed about a;ll thisstuff.Im just a servant of the devotees who are part of Caitanya Lila, and a servant of the Native American Indians...theres even a specialhealer, very famous in Boulder ,Colorado.Hannah, she has a church and she said the devotees weere sent to save the worlsd..I cant stand christians who eat meat...thats sooo bogus.and i wish they would kill the people who kill the cows....they dont deserve to live...I live with a rabbit, named Shanti babalove...and i dont see how somany people think that animals have no soul....they are Gods children also...the wild game i agree with if the people have powers and pray for the animals future when they kill it,but how many natives goand hunt their own animals...most buy meats in the stores..thats very badf....youneed to get some info on how they grow and kill these animals with such uttercruelty...its not human to treat them this way....,all for their temporary sense gratification.most people donthave the desire to research this stuff...theyd rather criticize about things they know nothing about..Next time give the hare krishna 20.00 and actually read the book...its notgoing to harm you...you will be purified....and maybe you dont dance for worship to the Creator, for peace on earth....i seriously dont agree with your opinion of why people dance at the powwow,.Dancing in a worshipful way is natural..everyone wanrts to serve someone...I know that the drumming, the sinfging and dancing is for worshipping the creator, though I have only personally known a few native american indians, thoughthey were the very pure ones... the pure ones.one of them is Big Al(ex-Cia fromSouth Dakota) he terrifies people with one world gov.info about one world gov.plans

you native amreican indians dance4 at the powwows for peace on earth, praying to the Creator,God.In america, people worship dog instead of God. the hhare

Krishnas have a perfect peace formula...we alsodance for peace on earth.ours is and ancient culture, try reading some of the books...i guarantee youll quit eating meat.its a matter of searching out the truth.if you take one step towards the Creator,God,He takes ten steps towards you.theres nothing wrong with eating meat to people whpo eat meat.they re brain is so dull from meat that they domnt care wether or not they have to get slaughtered and take animal birth, next life.Cant change the laws of Karma. If someone very special took birth in the native communuities, most people wouldnt recnozie him.I have met a very special son of a medicine chief.he is my husband in my heart.we lost each other, and im trying to find him, Ive had sebveral visions that I would see him, after peace on earth,so Im trying to help change the world to peace on earth and Native American Indians with their health .Im a rainbow warrior and I deserve weed more than most people..i even have my legal licence, though i havent had weed the past few days..Lord Siva brought weed from the spiritual world...thereby making it sacred. In India when a sadhu came to the house he would be offered a seat and a drink and a bag of Ganga.Ive rread several Native Amrican Indian novels...and your ancestors had avery rich spiritual culture...the immigrants and u.s. gov.have beemn trying to wipe out the indians ever since they got here.So many natives are dying from their influence...I want to try to turn the tables and help the Natives to fight for their health and to get the country back to them.they should be in charge of America...though so manyare sick and dying from so much unhealthy food supplies.
