You all with children, where do you draw the line? How do you handle it?
Found out the Brooke's school is doing a Thanksgiving presentation. Her class is going to wear headbands with construction paper feathers.
Not sure that this bothers me. But we are moving to a new school soon. One of the ones we are considering does even more. A friend told me today that their daughter made her own "indian outfit" out of a brown pillow case. They painted designs and symbols on the pillow case. Is this going too far?
What has been your experience with these things?
I understand that the intentions are good. And I'm excited that these schools are trying to increase awareness of Native culture.
Since she is only 4, she would be more upset that if I didn't let her participate in the presentation.
Looking for advice for now and for the future years!
Thanks!
